Title: Bereavement
Post by: Ammon on November 15, 2012, 03:43:38 PM
I apologise if I appear distant, it's not my intention to do that.
So many what if's, so much regret in life.

at 09:00 this morning I got a call that was about as unexpected as they come.
My 20 year old Sister, Julie, has died.

For now i'll just keep trucking as this is still sinking in, I don't know what else to do.
Familly is too far spread out.
I'm still trying to contact people that were mutual friends to let them know.
She played her druid in game Tylira.

Julie Ann Mortimer.

Bloody hell.

Words cant express what you and your family will be feeling right now.

All i can say is much the same as milli. Thoughts go to you and you family at this time. Let us know if theres anything I/we can do if anything :s

Life is too short, full of regrets and mistakes and hardships which you are going through now and in the future. Try and find something positive no matter how small and focus on that. Remember who your sister was and she will remain in your head and heart for eternity. I know its not the same but its a begining

Jim, so sad to hear such devastating news, life is indeed far to short.  I echo the sentiments of those already posted and offer a shoulder to cry on and am a good listener if you just want to talk.

Hi Ammon,

I saw the header to this thread and I froze.

My only sibling, a brother, died a few months ago (aged 43) so I know what you're going through the the emotions you must be feeling.

My heart goes out to your family - and especially to you and your immediate family. There's little I can say except that it's best to focus your energies on yourself, parents and siblings. Losing someone at any age is difficult, losing someone so young doubly so.

You may go through feelings of remorse, regret and even anger and betrayal and it's all part of the coping mechanism.

I was given this link which talks about the seven stages of grief (http://www.sadly-missed.com/resources/seven_stages_of_grief.php). It was from someone in the states where he lived so is truly 'American' in some of its worst forms, but may help explain some of the emotions.

Four months and I find the grief comes and goes in waves and for no apparent reason. He's still the first thing I think about the morning and the last thing I think about at night but that's natural and it does get easier.

I'm so sorry for you all and, at TL says, if there's anything any of us can do then you need only but ask.

Best wishes

Update.
Julie was killed by a Duodenal Ulcer rupturing.
She bled out internally, wouldn't have known death was coming.

I'm still struggling to come to terms with her loss :(
