I noticed Caospere has a motorcycle in his avater. Is he a biker?
I don't know whether he is or not, but I do know there are a few chaps on the forum that like nothing more than squeezing themselves into some leather & straddling a throbbing machine.
(& once there done with that they go out for a ride on there motorbikes)
I gave up squeezing into leather and going out in public after the court case and on advice from my lawyer.....
For me though it's the end of an era as my beloved is finally going to the great racetrack in the sky. 26 years old and while it doesn't ride it still starts up fine. :crying:

I changed my old XX last year, with a 2007 ZZR1400.... I recommend it. While it can never replace old love, it will help a bit on your sorrow and feel of loss.....
The GPZ was a superb bike and never once broke down in all the years i had it. Sadly it's spent it's retirement in a friends garage and it would need a complete rebuild to get it ridable again. So I've donated it to a GPZ enthusiast who will use it for spares, so at least some of it will keep riding.
I plan on going back to biking in the future and the ZZR1400 is the one I plan to buy. I'll be a doddery old silver biker and ride about everywhere at 30mph with a high viz jacket on and never go out in the rain :)
I almost bought a 1400 a few years ago but a need for camera gear won out in the end. It's a stunning bike and I envy you.

I'll smoothe this out a bit: The zzr1400 will set you back app. £32 000 (yep, 32 THOUSAND) in Norway.... I paid 16 000 for my 4 year old ZZR.... welcome to Norway, tax collectors paradise...

Just something I have a keen interest in. Once I have the money, I'll look into doing my test and so on, but for now I must stick to 4 wheels :/

Buried two friends, one seriously injured. All extremely experienced and all wiped by third party muppets in cars (one after doing a 9,000 mile road world tour and killed a mile from home).
Been in hospital a couple of times myself having gone over the bonnets of idiotic car drivers pulling out.
That was enough for me.

Like I say, its something I have had an interest in for a while (that started with the MotoGP). At the moment I'm too busy and too poor to start anything, but maybe in the future...
But then again, maybe by then I will have too much sense and stay away... stick to the TV ;)
I would recommend getting an Advanced Riders Qualification. While it won't stop you getting hit by an idiot it will go a long way to letting you spot the idiot, anticipate what dumb thing they're about to do and keep out of their way.

BEING the idiot that causes the accident! Although they're not called 'accidents' any more are they? They're Road Traffic Incidents. I still get flashes of memory from when Arja was taken out by a biker, the results of which she still suffers to this day. To hear the 'Think bike' publicity you'd think they were only ever the victims.

Absolutely. motorcyclists can be and often are problem. Drivers certainly don't have a monopoly on being dicks.
