Title: Internet completely broken
Post by: Jesung on November 20, 2012, 04:06:44 PM
It seems that my internet is just completely done in for the time being, I have tried everything I can to get it working to no avail, this means I will not be able to raid on Tuesdays for the foreseeable, I will still be there on Thursdays and Sundays, but Tuesdays will not be an option :(

What's up?  Uni blocking it at the firewall or is something happening to it on different days?  Slightly confused as to why the some days are ok and some days not!   Anything we can help research or solve?

I really have no idea, like yesterday a few hours after I wrote this post it was fine, now once again today it's slow and near unusable again, it's not only related to WoW either as I haven't actually opened WoW up since last raid and it still being slow, so I don't think it's firewall blocking access to games and such. The problem with getting it sorted is that it is nothing on my end, so I can't really do anything.

You done a tracert on things like the bbc website to see if a particular node on the route is causing the problems?  Pingplotter tracing can also be real helpful if you graph each hop then you can easily see where the problems are when things go awry.

After being slow all day it seems in the last 30 mins or so it has kicked back up to speed, the same as yesterday, maybe it is something to do with usage during the day, if it is then I'm not to bothered as I am not here enough during the day for it to cause me a problem, I will keep an eye on it over the next couple of days.
