Thought I'd start Christmas early and bought a Sonos Play system.
Bought a Sonos 3 (£229 priced matched by John Lewis and with a free wifi bridge), this is great.
The bridge attaches to your hub and then wirelessly streams music from your PC to the speaker/s (up to 9). It can be controlled wirelessly from any android or apple platform (we've got both iphones and ipads set up with it) and you can sit there, browse your entire music library (for me that about 320gb worth) and play, control volumes and settings, form queues and playlists and the sound is superb. If you add extra speakers they can either all play the same music or work independently of each other so people can listen to different music in different rooms.
It also works on your current music system with an adapter and plays Internet radio as needed. It also came with 6 months napster free (not that I use it).
I'm in awe of this. The only downside is that when the kids get hold of it I now hear Christmas music throughout the house .

cool beans.
How good is the wireless? Do you have the unit far away?
I looked at the Sonos when it came out. Nice bit of kit.
Yeah saw that Audio T are doing a deal like that but comes with Napster access as well. I am very very tempeted.
Other options are the Logitech squeezeboxes which are being retired so going very cheap atm.
have u got the sonos app on your phone for it?
yes on both phones as well as the ipads - works on both as well as PC, MAC and Android.

I have the router and bridge at 1st floor one end of the house and the speaker on the ground floor at the other end and it's fine. Distance-wise about 50ft I guess
Thread resurrection alert ....
A bit of a discussion about the Sonos system at the LAN as I too thinks it's absolutely brilliant. I said there that the only thing I wish it had was a plugin to Google Music.
Well guess what? It's here :yahoo:

Came with a free 90 day subscription to Google's 'All Access' too :yahoo::yahoo:
Great but shame it's limited to 20,000 songs :(
I think the 20000 limit relates to the number of songs that you can upload and stream from the Google cloud for free.
