Title: Laptop help
Post by: ayla on December 07, 2012, 01:05:13 PM
Hi guys, would it be possible please if someone could let me know if the following link of a laptop would be ok to play wow, minecraft, ac3 and a few other games.  My technical knowledge on pc's/laptops is almost non-existant - i have to ask people that i trust.  I am on a budget so cant afford a very shiny one, this will be a xmas present for my teenage lad (he's been bugging for a laptop rather than a desktop for ages now).

thanks guys xx

I'd agree with Mario :) Looks like a nice little laptop :) Other than the battery life.. If he's playing games like WoW on it, that would probably decrease even more :(

Yup it will run everything decently, the only thing that I can see being a problem is that AC3 doesn't have any support for Laptop GPU's, it will run, it just won't be very optimised. However that is a problem you can't get around, the only 'problem' I can see other than the low battery life is the screen resolution, it is 1366x768, which means it isn't HD, but that is personal preference I suppose. You can't really go much either way with laptops and any that are similar priced have similar specs.

I think you have a good price to performance with this one as anything higher gets ridiculously expensive of upwards £800 - £1000
