CoD4 is dead.
Admin badges etc. can be removed.
Apologies from me as I forgot all about it and should have mentioned it.
If we're going to remove the COD badges then we should also look at Arma, Red Orchestra, L4D, Black OPs and any others we're not playing.
Let's leave them for a minute and then decide what we're going to do with them all. Either we leave them for prosperity (reducing everyone to green badges to show it's something they played historically or remove them).
My 2 cents on it is that Admin badges can be removed and replaced by Greens as an immediate start. The admin badges give access to Admin forums, so Greens should be the default whilst we take other decisions like if the badges remain.
I've removed the badges from the former CoD4:BO admins and sent them a PM to explain why, that I should have removed them but forgot. I've not replaced them with greens which I can do easily enough. It's a very simple matter to activate or deactivate a badge (one button click) and as they take up almost no space and the number of badges is still manageable I have no issue with just switching them off in the admin panel but leaving them for possible future use etc.
We do still play L4D2 now and then. Arma is waiting on Arma 3 and when it drops I'm sure existing Arma 2 players will be all over it. Toby plans to pass the badges over to Arma 3 as it's being treated as an update rather than a new game. the other games do seem to be dead and I can shut them down if we want.
I wonder what we should do with the forums themselves, do we archive them or leave them visible. If we remove too many games we might look a bit light to new forum users? then again old forums with no activity don't look that great either?
I think leave visible for COD17 or whatever the next version will be called.
RO2 is totally dead and having seen no hope of a release date for the rising storm DLC its definitely one of the games that can be removed, along with the badges.
Could we perhaps have a cod4 veteran badge perhaps for all ex cod players to replace the green and red badges? Or are the CS ones just a one off? It's just I have fond memories playing the cod games with dMw and like myself a lot of people joined through joining our server, just a thought
As suggested above we'll covert all to green badges for the time being and then decide how to proceed in due course. A blue badge is an option but I don't think transient games such as RO really warrant it. We only did it for cs as that's where it all began.

Do you mean COD not RO? I was after COD veteran badges :D
I totally understand with the CS blue badges as thats where it all began but it might be an idea for the future to do the same for COD (COD4 really) as we gained many people through it.
I kinda like the idea of the blue badges tbh it shows loyalty to to the community and when we 'de-support' a game members dont lose the badge they worked hard for, might be something to think about :g:
Yes COD would be a worthwhile contender for a blue badge. Not sure about the others.
Anyway, we'll revert those others to green and then take it from there.
My internet connection is all over the place today, although fingers crossed it's back now plus I've gone down with the winter bug man flu norovirus ebola zombie crawling death (bit of a cough) so it might take me till tonight to badge various people to greens.
Also a definitive list of completely dead games to be removed/archived would be good. As mentioned I know the Arma guys want Arma 2 left up in lieu of Arma 3 and I'm throwing in a personal vote to keep L4D2 alone as well.
BSGO is still being played albeit mainly only by Oldie (and myself on occasion).

Do you ever get to meet up and shoot each other?
CS:GO is on every night folks, don't be shy, we don't bite ;)
