Title: FSX UK Orbx Screenies
Post by: sulky_uk on January 15, 2013, 11:06:53 PM
recently i got UK Orbx, some of you may ask at this point what the "insert swear word here" is that. Well it is quite possibly in my opinion the best ever scenery addon for fsx, these guys are  top drawer, just search orbx pacific north west videos on youtube for proof that they are good at it.

Anyhow you will have to forgive the old q6600, she is starting to struggle but i averaged about 24 throughout on max setting except water details was set to 2x low, and as some of you know fsx would rather use the cpu to crunch numbers instead of the gpu.

ok onto what i think...ok so the mesh can be a little untidy in places and where as they have scenery like the 3 RDF aerials at Dover they don't have the castle, but you cant have it all. I feel with a strong processor and real world environment you could really show this off. As with all scenery there is an optimum height for viewing, but ive found this is good at all levels, from the nice airfields (biggin hill is nice) right up to cruising at 35,000 in a 767 Anyhow onto the pics

Oh and finally thanks to Ron (doors)  for introducing me to orbx scenery

the first pic is near the chunnel terminus

this next shot is quite possibly the best landscape type pic ive seen in fsx, almost life like

Just bought this for £18.50 good offer from here (https://fullterrain.com/product/eng)

The detail is staggering, the screenshots don't do it justice

Also just bought a great variant of the Carenado PA34 Seneca, what an aircraft!! Lovely to fly and is so stable.  Well chuffed :) got it here (http://www.justflight.com/product/carenado-pa34-seneca-v-hd-series-for-fsx-and-p3d) what a sexy plane, also has 3D sounds so every little bump, switch, manoeuvre adds to the experience :)

The autopilot on this is a bit tricky though, the switches seem to be in random different places but after an hour or so I Sussed it

So what does it take to get a server up and running for this? I assume that if we create our own all these nice maps you're all buying can be added so you don't need to settle for the original stuff?
