Title: EA Wield The Banhammer

If you participate in the Sim City beta and fail to report a bug you've found, EA will ban you... from all your EA games.

I'm a big fan of digital distribution, but this highlights one of the dark sides - a publishers complete control over the games you buy from them.

Sounds a bit draconian to me. I assume it relates to someone finding a bug but keeping quiet and then abusing the bug once the game launches.

Sent from my mobile phone, oh yes.

Does not seem to be the case.

QuoteUPDATE (1/22/13): EA has updated the EULA language and issued the following statement: "“The clause in the EA Beta Agreement for the SimCity beta was intended to prohibit players from using known exploits to their advantage.  However, the language as included is too broad.  EA has never taken away access to a player’s games for failing to report a bug.  We are now updating the Beta Agreement to remove this point.”"
