Title: Bunny hopping
Post by: BrotherTobious on February 05, 2013, 02:06:10 PM
Guys there seems to be a increase in this and also what people determine it is.  DD left the server for being told to stop bunny hopping by a memeber of the community after he states "one jump".  There are a number of people that also think that jumping around corners is also acceptable and doing it while in combat is ok.

I think what we need is to think about what is allowed and what we wont so it makes our jobs easier.

Just a thought.

Would also like once again to thank you guys for the welcome and already enjoying being back on the front line :)

Toby

I can't say that I've seen that much hopping, the odd one and occasionally followed by an un-prompted apology.
That's not to say it isn't happening though.

I've played for hours with DD and haven't seen him hop about. I wonder whether he left because it was Duvel (they have a little history).
I don't see much problem with an occasional single hop (although it would obviously be better if no-one did it),
but I don't like the jumping around corners.

Let's keep a close eye on this and bring it to people's attention when/if it happens.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention Toby, and welcome aboard (again) :D

Any chance you can jump on DuVeL and tell him not to admonish other players please Blunty.

If he's not an CS admin then it's not his job and he needs to be told thus. We find it difficult enough to retain members as it is.

I'm happy to send him a PM if you'd prefer.

Thanks

How's this
QuoteHi Pete,
Whilst we appreciate that you were trying to help by mentioning to people when you think they B-hop,
We'd ask that rather than tackling the member head-on, you inform an admin and ask them to deal with it.
Thanks & regards
Blunt

I haven't sent yet so shout if you got any suggestions

I noticed a few of the 'newer' players being bouncy last night, but when they were told they did acknowledge and apologise.  I cant say i saw DD doing any hopping and would have been surprised if i did see him as in general he is very 'for the rules'

That's fine,  thanks.

Perhaps just say that we're asking this of all non-members who do the same to make it generic.

I'm assuming typo 'non-members' = 'non-admins'?
if not, I don't get it
