This one should be be great fun for the flyers.
I'm thinking Hubbah & Slush or Hubbah & Guru for AOE/cleaving in the nests?
HELL YEAH! i get the awsome job! you have to forgive me for dropping off the platform because i get abit to excited ;)

Ele sham with glyphed cl is also good for platform, yeh
Oh yeah, this fight looks great!
I wish that Fire had awesome AoE like it used to. This fight takes me back to Alysrazor, which was my favorite fight in Firelands.
But yeah, this one should be a walk in the park. (I'm predicting less than 20 pulls)
The Plight of Icarus, a piece on Aerodynamics and Temporary Flight buffs by Devlan.
The nests will activate in a pattern that repeats itself over 6 nests, 3 Lower and 3 Upper. If we assume that the platform we arrive on from the tunnel is Yellow and then, going counter-clockwise, they are Blue, Green and Purple, they will activate in the following order:
Blue Lower Nest - Yellow Lower Nest - Yellow/Purple Lower Nest - Blue Upper Nest - Yellow Upper Nest - Middle Upper Nest.
Team 1 will go Blue Lower - Yellow/Purple Lower - Yellow Upper and simply continue that pattern throughout the fight.
Team 2 will go Yellow Lower - Blue Upper - Middle Upper and continue that throughout the fight.
On Feed Young buffs: All the blobs flying through the air will provide a damage and healing buff if intercepted with Wings activated, Team 2 can pick 1 up and still have enough Feathers to get where they need to, provided they do not use one to get down from a higher platform. Wether or not the blobs can be caught by jumping is presently unknown to me.
Wings will negate the pushback from Down Draft and you can cast normally while standing still in the air. (This is potentially useful if the Healers can spare a feather and we're in trouble on healing done) Down Draft will not grant a movement "buff" when you leave the platform area itself, meaning you can't use the momentum from Downdraft to reach a lower platform, you still have to jump, if you have to normally. I cannot stress this enough, as the second time Team 2 has to reach their Lower Nest, a Down Draft will have started.
I have used my Amazing MS Paint skills to create this diagram/diorama/overview of the Nests and their order of activation, numbered for your convenience, with colors based on memory.

Interesting thread on how to get the buff by intercepting green or yellow food:
http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1275872-Intercepting-Ji-kun-food
TL:DR
Fly just above the boss just before the cast and you'll get it every time. 1 stack per cycle.
The MMO thread on nest location:
http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1283870-Ji-Kun-Nest-Rotation-10m-amp-25m
Quote from: Meyer;20722619We tried to find accurate information regarding the order in which the nest spawns in 10m and 25m Ji-kun normal but this wasn’t easy so to help out I decided to post our findings here to help other people in a similar situation.
The color refers to the following:
The first nest to become active is the one to your right when you face the boss after landing on the platform. It’s kind of like 3 o’clock. That one is Blue.
Go clockwise around the main platform and at:
6 o’clock you have Green (right behind you as you land)
8 o’clock you have Purple
11 0’clock you have Red
1 0’clock you have Yellow
Here is the rotation for 10m:
Feed Young|Lower|Higher
1| Blue
2| Green
3| Purple
4| |Blue
5| |Green
6| |Center
7| Blue
8| Green
9+10|Purple|Blue
11| |Green
12| |Center
On 10M we have 1 grp take care of Blue-Green-Blue-Green-Blue-Green
and another to take care of Purple-Center-Purple-Center
Another worthwhile thought on this fight from another MMO thread (http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1278437-Tips-for-Ji-kun):
Quote from: LibertarianWhat's with all these crazy strats. Just assign 3 people (2 aoe cleave and a healer) to fly around 3 bottom -> 3 top -> 3 bottom and then burn boss. This is how we did it without even knowing about the feather buff the first week. It's just normal mode.
We know the location of each of the nests, why not just kill them directly from nest to nest with one group? Downsides?
Been thinking about this some more and I think we are over-complicating it. It's a 1 minute debuff to get a new feather, so how about we do this:
*****************
Raid makeup:
2 Heals
2 Tanks
6 DPS
(we could push 3H if we really have to)
1 Nest team:
3 dps (inc say TL & Milli for off-heals, i.e. no main spec healer)
Feather from Lower 1 (1 spare feather)
Fly direct to Lower 2 (3 stacks left) (4 spare feathers)
Fly direct to Lower 3 (get new feather - 4 stacks again) (1 spare feather)
Fly direct to Upper 4 (3 stacks left)
Fly direct to Upper 5 (2 stacks left)
Fly direct to Upper Central 6 (1 stacks left)
Drop to Platform
Drop to Lower 7 (1 spare feather)
Fly direct to Lower 8 (3 stacks left) (4 spare feathers)
and then either:
ALL BURN
or
Fly direct to Lower 9 (and 3 others from the platform group fly direct to Upper 10)
*****************
We might even be able to burn from even earlier (some have just focused on boss after Upper 6 and ignored further nests).
Spare feathers can be picked up by anyone on the platform (healers and DPS can grab them) and the flight makes Feed Young and Downdraft easier.
Healers note: Quills coincides with Lower 2, Upper 4 and Upper 6.
Nest Location
As per Devlan's linked Paint diagram.
It starts on right side, goes clockwise for first 3 nests
Then goes back to first position again for 4, goes clockwise again to 5 then finishes in middle for Upper 6.
7 is back where we started and goes clockwise again, etc.
Practiced some jumping down and up to nests on LFR :) seems like fun :)
Final tip, Caw damage - spread out please!
