Bumping this one for Tuesday seeing as we're now there!
Phase 1
Transition @ 65% HP
Phase 2
Transition @ 35% HP
Phase 3
Phase 1:
Crashing Thunder - avoid
Thunderstruck (circles on ground) - avoid, damage taken reduces with increased distance from boss
East:
Diffusion Chain - spread >10yds (does more damage for each jump within 10yds)
South:
Overcharge - group on player to avoid stun (6 sec then stun wave)
West:
Bouncing Bolt - soak the blue swirls (or adds will spawn)
North:
Static Shock - group on player to share damage
Transition @ 65%:
4 groups
- 2 x tanks (no static shock)
- 1 healer + 2 dps
- 1 healer + 2 dps
- 1 healer + rogue (or other low damage dps)
Phase 2:
Go to South then clockwise
Lightning Whip - avoid cone and lightning on floor
Summon Ball Lightning - spread >6yds, THEN group up after spawned for AOE
Aim to transition at North conduit (3rd)
When conduit levels you get TWO static shocks, so group for those
Do NOT transition when he static shocks the group
Transition @ 35%
3 groups:
1 healer, 1 tank, 1 dps
1 healer, 1 tank, 1 dps
1 healer, 3 dps
Phase 3:
North conduit dies
Thunderstruck (run away)
Ball Lightning (stack after spawn)
Lightning Whip - avoid cone
Violent Gale - wind, stay on platform
Been thinking this through some and it is clear the transition is the killer for us and possibly the DPS.
Option 1
2-heal the fight - this will mean we get much lower power on each conduit (and therefore lower damage per ability) and also beat the Thunderstruck timer consistently and by a big margin. My disc dps was only 15k or so due to the amount of bubbling and PoH I needed to cast.
Option 2
Go to a 4-4-1-1 split on the Transition. Tanks are the 1-1 as they cannot be targeted by the Static Shock, can't chain anything to anyone if they are on their own and can soak one Bouncing Bolt and tank any other that is missed and leads to an add spawning (only 2.5m HP so will die pretty quickly).
Option 3
Better use of defensive CDs. As far as I can tell these are the abilities we can use to solo soak a Static Shock
Shadow priest|Dispersion
Disc Priest|-
Rogue|Cloak of Shadows, cheat death
Mage|Ice Block, Greater Invisibility
Balance Druid|Cloak of Shadows (symbiosis)
Resto Druid|Ice Block (symbiosis), deterrence (symbiosis)
Mistweaver Monk|Diffuse Magic, Zen Med
Hunter|Deterrence x 2 (Readiness)
Shaman|-
Pally|Bubble
Fury/Arms warrior|-
We can better allocate these to individually soak the first static shock that comes into a quadrant, then a second solo soak too in some cases. If we only use one per quadrant then the odd add that spawns from a 4-4-1-1 should not be an issue, alternatively we remain at 3-3-2-2 and run the slight risk of running short of CDs in one quadrant or another.
It's that first transition that is the key to the fight, I'm convinced that the rest is not a problem.
34% best try so far, let's kill it this reset!
1-1-4-4 worked well last night, the only issue we had was getting people to their zones and deep enough into them so that they did not stun other groups. I think this puppy drops on Tuesday night as the 1-1-4-4 Transition worked like a charm!
