I forgot to mention that Ammon spoke to me the other night before the raid about rogues as a class. He's feeling a bit peeved with them (rogues) at the moment and is not feeling the dev's love. He mentioned he might want to re-roll. I basically said 'give it time, early days yet' and 'anything is possible, so we can discuss if it becomes a problem'. Frankly I have to agree with him, rogues are not a great class in the current content and seem to be regularly 'weak' in the content we have done to date.
Nothing firm from Jim at the moment, but given the class splits:
Protector: Hunter, Monk, Shaman, Warrior (5 people)
Conqueror: Paladin, Priest, Warlock (4 people)
Vanquisher: Death Knight, Druid, Mage, Rogue (4 people)
....it might be possible to suggest a frost DK re-roll? It gives us a raidwall, more single target & more AOE dps, a utility Grip and another backup tank which given Hal's post might well be essential over the next few months as I cannot see Guru being real happy to play tank for 1-2 raids per week (and it would be a waste of his dps imo).
Without that additional backup tank, I think we might well have issues in melee over the coming months if we encounter a fight that is actually melee friendly, so it is worth a thought. DK > Rogue in my book when thinking about 10 man raiding.

I agree, a frost/blood dk would be a viable (better) alternative to the rogue.
We've had a long & painful summer break and Jim's had a fair drop in attendance due to an extended (and still unfinished) decorating project, but he's getting back into the swing of turning up again and his ilevel has taken a jump up to i555 now so his gear is on a par again with everyone else. However, his dps is not.
I am worried as looking over the logs he seems to far too often lag behind by a considerable margin in the dps tables. Fallen Protectors last night is a good example of a fight where he was a 'no show': everyone else is over 225k dps and he is stuck at 133k dps. Räinbow from NewKidz (a very pleasant lady but by no means what I would call a 'dps god' of the rogue world) pushed out 267k dps on her rogue in the same fight with very similar gear. Compare Räinbow with Ammon (or other raiding rogues) in other fights and you'll see the trend.
That degree of disparity is wrong and we need to sort it as we will not be able to carry that sort of shortfall into Heroics. Rogues are better than that at the moment and Jim should be doing more. Might be time to have a word with him and suggest he check on other rogues in other specs and see what they are doing differently?

Worth having a word to point him in the right direction and give him a target to aim for. His gear / stats all seem fine
