Here's a great little tool to help check if sites are down for everyone or just you. Simply type the site you want to check (lfs.net for ex) and it will give you not only the status but can also show you ping time response.
Nothing to download or install, and it's pretty handy.

Master Server is back up this morning,but ancillary services,forum,desktop etc are still down :sad:

I'm sorry to report that we have experienced (and still are at the time of writing) another attack on our servers tonight. Because it has been going on for several hours now (this hasn't happened before), I have moved the master to another, temporary location. This way everyone who already has an LFS account can still go online and / or start a host. Our websites will not be available for the time being.
We apologise for the inconvenience. We are working on solving these issues and we hope to see results of that in a few days.
I was so hoping for an update..people attacking LFS, oh well..glad they sorted it.

Alls well in the LFS world. Forum etc now on-line. Scawen has stated that he is working on the problem.
