Are the missing areas place that haven't been explored yet (and so haven't generated)? Looks huge.
Thats correct mate everthing that is shown is where someone has been
You failed to label 'Benny's Keep, Out'.
See, there, that's a play on words right there. Keep, like a castle but then also like keep out, you know, like stay away.
How do you build a lift? I'd like to build a proper mine, with a lift, and some pictures of thatcher, a few dead canaries and some black faced poor people.
Lifts are very tricky they work well on your own machine but in survival in my experience are not that great.
Sorry I missed it off I also missed other people off I am sure, but it is only a stop gap till the dynamic is working.
awe.. isn't that cute.. It's like Lego for adults...
Errrrr....get back to your pew pew shooter gun boy, we've got to build more walls. Now, wheres that blue sizer gone?
The dynamic map is up and being tested. Details in 1st post.
Wow looks great, my thanks to OB, Lib for getting this up and running
Enjoy guys

:woot2: Thanks for sticking at it guys!
Looks like dynmap still has a fair bit of rendering to do. Hopefully it wont take too long.
For those that havnt spotted it yet....if you hover your mouse over the right hand side of the map, there's a menu that allows you to select different viewing angles and to view a map of the surface and the nether.
IF dynmap turns out to be stable, and can be run long-term, I already have a suggestion I'd like to put forward :narnar: which would be to add another high-def isometric view.
It doesn't really change much, just makes the map look alot nicer when you zoom in. like this http://bit.ly/18an17i. But the main thing is we actually have a dynamic real time map. Thanks again!:worship:
EDIT: P.S. was the webchat feature disabled on purpose? I just spotted Lib on the server and wanted to say hello via dynmap, but the options seems to be missing.

This is a really basic test with low-res renders and no web chat. If it plays nicely with our other games I'll knock it up a couple of notches :)
Like the isometric view :thumb:
Wow that dynamic map is really cool!

Isometric view is already there, just low res.
Hi-res turned on. Will take a while to catch up. No apparent hit on the server either which is good :thumb:

Have to agree there Danny boy.
I spent a small fortune on my PC and GFX card, why would I want to go back to BBC basic style games?
I just don't get it
It's all about game play rather than graphics. The fun of the game and the reason it's become so popular is that while in principal it's very simple, there are almost limitless ways you can build and create. Using your imagination to design and build makes a nice change from shooting stuff and blowing stuff up.
It's also a game you can drop in and out of when you like and play both solo and as a group. I play it to relax, chat on TS and work on my building projects and designs. The basic graphics actually make the game more fun, I guess boys never grow tired of playing with logo :D

Hmmm, I'll have a look into it.
Please don't get me wrong, I'm not 'dissing' your game, I genuinely don't get it.
Peace Out.

I was the same, Gortex, Karrde where playing and told me to get it, I was like nah not for me, then I said sod it and thought if I got 10 hours out of this game then I would of done well. Sat down on the first night for a 1 hour enjoyed it. Next day got up did 7 hour straight.
It is lego for adults but there is also the electric engineering you can do with red-stone, which makes some very cool contraptions, traps and doors. But it is also the gathering of the items needed, and as smilo said it working with you mates to build stuff :)
With the graphics I didn't think much of the game from what I'd seen. A few months ago my housemate got a copy and started building all kinds of huge houses and I realised what the best aspects of the game was. It's all about making ridiculous structures for the sake of it. The only reason I haven't bought it is because I'd never finish my PhD if I did, but it's on my to-do list for afterwards.
I think T-Bag that is very good idea mate finish the PHD first this game is becoming a obsession

Hi-res turned off. With more than 3 people on the MC server the Dynmap plugin is causing serious issues for our members on other games. As the next step in the quest to get this working well for everyone concerned I have restarted the plugin on its lowest graphics setting. I know it doesn't look as nice but what I'm interested in at this time is your feedback on performance. It would help if we could use TS to flag up issues as they occur so grab me if I'm on so I can investigate in real-time.
Little_Ninj loves it..
He's found loads of Hunger Games servers to get his PvP fix. He's also building some monstrosity on the dMw server.. No idea where on the map that is but at least he's being creative while doing something on the PC (opposed to nothing..)
The map doesn't work with 1.6 but we all know that. I've looked for an updated version but haven't seen anything as yet :)
Yeah waiting for Bukit to pull finger out.
Is this it ?

No. That appears to be for Forge based servers (we use Bukkit as Forge needs to be installed at both client and server).
There is a Bukkit 1.6.1 development build (http://dl.bukkit.org/downloads/craftbukkit/) out but it's very new so I'm going to give it a chance to mature a bit before installing it. A couple of days should do it.
Then we can get the map back as there's also a development build of Dynmap (http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/dynmap/files/109-v1-8-alpha-3/) that should be compatible.
how is this map going and will it work with 1.62?
There is a CraftBukkit for Minecraft 1.6.2 DEVELOPMENT build is now available! But it is developmental, I would prefer to hold out till we get a RO before trying. What do you think OB?
Could we not give it a try.....it won't hurt the server...will it?

It might hurt our server it also has the possible effect of the other servers and services on the BA4
There isn't a Dynmap version available that's compatible with the Bukkit 1.6.2 development build so we have to wait.
Ha, so my 200ft model of Ron Jeremy is still hidden from the world (Oldie I Googled him as you suggested, you're a bad man!)

can anyone tell me how one adds signs etc to the Dynmap - is it easy or do or does it involve that technical coding stuff?
Thanks
It might be me, but it seems the dynmap link is broken?
Yeah it is down due to when the server was lost. But the game is up and working
Sent from my Nexus 4
Yeah probably best to wait until BA5 is up so as to not put too much stress on BA4, as Toby says though server is up and running
Apologies for the delay but the map plugin is now fixed :-)
The old DNS is b0rked though so use dynmap.deadmen.co.uk instead
Cheers Oldie :)
What a good little Santa's helper. Thanks
Hey chaps!
Found out I actually had a Minecraft account a way back when I purchased it during it's alpha/beta stages, and I've decided to play it full. I was wondering if I could tag along onto this server?
Dynmap is now working on BA5 :D

Thank you OB :)

Markers look fine to me, have you got them turned on in your browser from the layers menu icon.
Fantastic work, thanks Oldie
tried it at lunchtime..awesome, time to start exploring again
well done oldie
Yeah markers look ok to me
Its made me realise how much of the map we have yet to discover
Exploration night may be in order I think, on the furthest point we have discovered?
I'm back in. I can't remember where anything is at all. It took me about 30 minutes to find my way out of Happy Castle and as for getting back to the Starter Village, I have completely given up!
