It's live!
Finally after a month or so of work my project is complete and you are all invited to come and have a go if you have the stones.
Without spoiling too much, I've made a small challenge area for you all to play in.
Once started you will have to get out so please be prepared to spend some time on it. It is frustrating you WILL die several times and the last time I built one of these it took about 6 hours to complete (this isn't as big and does have save points)
Please at no point break or destroy anything. Several thousand torches have been used so there should be no mobs and there is no need for you to break or change anything.
Over 5,000 wool, 5,000 red stone, 10,000 cobble stone, 6,000 nether rack, 1,000 glow stone, 1,000 obsidian and a myriad of other materials have gone into building this and I'd like you all to come over, enjoy the experience (well be annoyed as you do it and afterwards reflect on the fun). Please do not damage anything - Toby made me edit off my threat here, but suffice to say it was scary.
To get to the start take the nether portal to Gortex, then the railway all the way to my portal, then take the railway from the portal to my house, then the portal down to the ground. Hop down the ladder save your gear in the chest and use the bed and you are ready to start.
You will die, you will be frustrated but hopefully you will enjoy the game and then try and make something bigger and better for the rest of us.
It'd be cool if people posted their times or number of deaths or something to give it a competitive flavour :)
Oh and a big thanks to OB for providing the last gold to finish what I needed.
Awesome news you have this up and running mate - I know you've spent countless hours working on projects like these and although not seen the last one - I have been told its worth the wait.
Will get across to provide repeated sacrifice in glory of your creation :)
Thanks in advance ;)
Can't wait to try this. Just to check, you're advising not to take any high value items in because we won't actually need to kill baddies or mine through anything, right?

I've left an ender chest outside for storage. You will need nothing except what I left you.
Although some food might be a good idea!!!!
No feedback :(
I've been away for a week and haven't had a chance to get online. I'll certainly check out your work when as soon as I log in.
Been online but not had chance yet dude. Promise I'll be there over next couple days :)
You sir are not only a genius but god damn evil as well not gonna spoil anything for anyone - but :ranting2: :D
Corren - massive kudos on the project - unbelievable amount of work has went into it - and thoroughly enjoyed, very fiendish at places but very enjoyable - each time i died i managed to get that little bit further which kept me hooked and not going to bed.
Everyone else should get there asap and try it - well worht the travel time even to sample the entrance alone.
Ended up taking about 9 lives (stopped using the minecart on way in as didnt want you to run out of them)
and it took me around 2hours total.
Again thanks for taking the time out to do this mate - awesome work :yahoo:

Excellent, that's exactly the feedback I was aiming for :)
I'm weak
The jumping between blocks tried my patience too far I'm embarrassed to say and I gave up on my 3rd death there. Loved the entrance and the mazes though :thumb:
Yeah jumping between the blocks is a pain and I think I quoted to Toby last night saying it was "super mario bros world 8-1" where you had to jump onto that single block platform.
Very fiendish.
But don't get up OB - lot of other good puzzles await
I think I died about 10 times doing the jump, but there is a check point on the other side :)
wow that was hard but got there in the end and dead chuffed. I spent almost an hour and 12+ deaths on the jumps over the lava but got it in the end and after saving at check points made it to freedom. Really well designed and immensely impressive and if you have not seen it yet go try it out.
Finished it in 76.31 mins (used a stop watch)
Hello,
Restocked minecarts. Please if you get stuck DONT mine through the walls or if you really do have to please replace it. Not happy to have to refill the holes.
