Title: Google Nexus 10
Post by: OldBloke on June 20, 2013, 05:12:48 PM
So my dearly loved Galaxy Tab 10.1 gave up the ghost and a replacement was sought. I really liked the look of the new Asus Transformer Infinity (not released as yet) but as usual my complete lack of patience meant finding something available now. I am really impressed with my Nexus 4 and love the vanilla Android experience (only phone I've had where I'm not even tempted to put a custom ROM on it) so the Nexus 10 was an obvious candidate. I only looked at the 10 inch tablets as that's the best format for my needs. Reviews were very favourable with the main gripes being the lack of expandable memory and the large bezel. As I never used all the 16GB on my Galaxy the lack of SD slot isn't an issue for me. The large bezel is, I'm my honest opinion, a good thing. When you're holding a 10 inch tablet you want to do so without having to touch the screen.

So I'm a couple of days in and I'm really impressed. The screen is a beaut with battery life and performance also getting the thumbs-up from me.

The only real disappointment is the lack of official accessories. I'd love a proper dock and full cover but they are sadly lacking. This lack of support in the hardware accessory department could be levied at the Nexus 4 too. Not good enough for two bits of kit that have been around long enough for them to be available now.

I bought mine a few months ago.
I got it mainly for use in the kitchen and around the house.
Pleased with the quality, battery life and screen.
I agree with you about the bezel, how else would you hold it?
Lack of official accessories is a bit of a pain, but in the end I decided that I'd bought a tablet not a lappy so don't use a KB. I just bought a good quality hard case/cover (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Google-Techstyle-Leather-Holster/dp/B00ARCQ78A/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A2FL2KKXLNMM52).
My main gripe is the browser's lack of support for some everyday features (iPlayer, quicktime, etc.) so not about the nexus 10 at all.
