4.3 has been seen on a Nexus 4 so it should not be long before it is released into the wild to autoupdate our phones. July 24th seems to be bandied around for some Google announcements, perhaps it will be then?
Wave goodbye Android 4.2.2! :byebye:
We'll all be getting 4.3 anyway as soon as we buy the Nexus 5 in spite of teh fact that we have perfectly decent nexus 4 phones :-)
Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep an eye out for the update.
Tried 4.3 and didn't like it over the touchwiz features I was using on the S4. So went back to touchwiz 4.2.2 with nova launcher over the top
Just got the update to 4.3. It's supposed to be quicker and I'm not sure if it's that I am expecting it to be faster because they say it's faster but I do think it's a bit snappier. Obviously it looks identical to 4.2.2 which as pure android without all the crap that phone makers and mobile carriers shovel onto their phones means it's still the smoothest and cleanest UI out there.

Tried the leak. That was crap. Installed factory 4.3 image yesterday, and it's brilliant. Here are a couple of general tips:
- Visit the dialer settings and enable predictive dialer.
- Camera functions upgraded (what? Where did white balance adjustment go?), especially photosphere performance on selected models. Take it for a spin :)
- rub it in the faces of S4 owners stuck on 4.2.2 :D

Edit: found white balance. Selector arc has nested menus :)

That's more than likely an app you are running? I have not heard of any major crash problems with it that are actually 4.3?
Probably more than likely TL it still works but I just get this message from time to time.

My update left me with a broken 'Play Store'. This is a common problem that's been kicking around forever. There are various ways posted up on the web to fix this but the only one that worked for me was to delete my Google account, reboot, add account back.
I was lucky it seems , my phone updated without issue. I'm just waiting for the update to come for my Nexus 7.

I cant find out what is crashing unless I uninstall all of it. but hope updates will come soon.
I feel left out now. No update for mine yet. I guess they're pushing it out in stages.
Seems odd and I'd love to know the process Google use to decide what gets updated and when. My Nexus 4 got the update but my Nexus 7 hasn't yet?

You can 'force' it by force stopping Google Framework Services and rebooting :D
Ahh ok, I shall try that then.
EDIT: Nope, that didn't work. Oh well I shall wait. 4.2.2 is stable enough.

Did I mention that you also have to clear cache and data as well as force closing Google Framework Services?
Cleared the cache and data on Google Services Framework. Then stopped the service. I didn't need to reboot and when I looked my device was telling me that the last check for an update was 01/01/1970. I hit update and the download began. I was plugged into a power supply though, which might have an effect?
Well it updated on its own last night so there we go, I'm on 4.3 now too. No discernible difference so far!
There was a problem with the nexus 7 units where after some months the memory used to eventually the fill up. Rather than clear out old data from the drive as it went along Android used to leave it and only tried to free up some space when it actually needed it. This made the tablet slow down considerably as space had to be wiped before it could be written to. Now though Android 4.3 uses the TRIM function whereby the device wipes data from unused space during idle times and when the battery is at 70% +. Obviously it will have no effect on nexus 4 users but makes a big difference to older nexus 7's

Aye mine went smoothly too, no gremlins have shown their head and it's all working smoothly. It's very subjective, but it does feel slightly snappier, no idea why.
It seems you were not alone Toby.

Nice to see so many Nexus 4 Owners!, Since I got the update that same day Snapchat crashed 2-3 times and turned my phone off, not sure if it's related but it's never done anything like that before apart from that the update has been fine liking the new features which makes life a little easier (dialer auto complete is awesome).
To add to the debate I've luckily had no issues at all. The phone runs perfectly fine.
