Title: To the neigh-sayers....
Post by: Penfold on July 21, 2013, 10:27:36 AM
.... who said there were no horses, we now seem awash with them.

Well done on finding the herd.

Thanks for the gift of saddles sulks and for Lib for retrieving them when I died

Can we do a night charge on them to the sound of Carl Orff's Carmen Burana

I would have though the horses forced a choice of Suppe's Light Cavalry Overture?

I found a brown horse with a saddle wandering free outside the Oppressed Village.

I brought him in and tied him up to Sulky's fence post. Not sure who he belongs to but he is saddled.

Mine have no saddles and are in the paddock.

I will be studding them later.

The children, I and mega built a little horse compound outside the main oppressed village.

We plan on breeding them and then opening a fifth pen which will be used for horses which others can take and tame. I know Toby needs a horse (and saddle), does anyone else need a horse?

Give us a couple of days to mine some more gold and we'll breed some for you and let you know when they've matured.

In the meanwhile it's on the search for saddles.

That same horse seems to have gone again. I think he may be breaking his lead somehow?

Rustled I expect. I hear there's some bandits about.
He'll be in the Tescos lasagne by now.

Has anyone tried to take the horse through the nether?

I think it may be difficult as lots of it are single lane and the horses need a double block to pass?

How did you mange that?

I've had a go and can get him into the nether but when I try to lead him he gets stuck on the single block runs. (Mainly the bit where the track splits and goes past the lava. Did you knock and rebuild or is there another way?

I galloped across the pains the dersert the hills over some very deep water.  To the spawn village then broke down the door and into the portal and then lead it through rebuilding any single as I went.

The real trick is the getting it in to atlantus from the portal. :)

For all those wanting horses we have at the moment 4 spare horses all with leads and all tamed and all bred by me however I ask that if you take one and you want to store it in our pen area that you talk to me before you build your pen as we have recently had mobs finding their way in including zombies, creepers, spiders and even ender-men. I will explain the necessary precautions needed for a safe pen-for instance with so little space left within our walls you will need to break the current wall which is blocking your pen and build a new one 2 blocks away from the edge and you will need to put a roof on that covers not only your pen but every bit of the area including the walls so that monsters unless let in (which I advice against) or if they break through the doors which in future will hopefully be at the end of a corridor that has a trap or two in it a bit like my slaughter house so that mobs (I will put signs up explaining an easy way to get through safely) cannot gain access to the interior of the building. I do hope to make clear though that this is not the only security measure needed so do speak to me. I also ask that if you expand your pen you take the same precaution as if you were building a new one and that you only expand to your left or right as I would like to just have a long"ish" line of pens which vary in size but only in one direction.-If you disagree with any of this and your ideas have sense then we will take this in to account and therefore you just need to PM me or talk to me in-game.
Sincerely Mega.

I mean by this when you are in the corridor facing not towards the pens but past them that you only expand in your left or right at that moment.

I would like a second horse to go in my stable (by the Corren Tower).

Anyone got one I can trade for? Happy to collect or pay for delivery :)

It took my flipping ages to get that first horse to you and I ain't doing it again :flirty:

We have plenty of horses at PenClanLand which isn't a million miles away and you're more to have one (free of charge of course).  You'll just have to come and collect please.

Let me know and I'll pull out a fast one for you. The one you have atm is very strong (4 dots on second row) but not the fastest. I'll dig out a fast one for you and hopefully cross-breeding you'll get a nice mix.

If you want that then I'll pen one off for you so you know which to grab.

Toby has yet to collect the horse we penned off for him in dMw Village. Poor bugger is now half-starved to death and feeling most neglected

Toby doesn't look half-starved...

Cool, Pen pen one off and I'll collect - fast would be good as you say I might be able to breed a good mix. If you leave a chest nearby I'm happy to drop some goods in, even if it's a block of iron I know the kids have been short of.
