Title: More issues on the server
Post by: TwoBad on August 15, 2013, 05:35:21 PM
Blob has just told me of some more issues, i'll hand over to him to tell you....

Blocks have been misplaced to jump over fences/walls all over the main spawn village also letting mobs in, trees have been grown all over some of the path ways making it difficult to move around and 2 have been planted outside BrotherTobious' house. The pig farm has only 1 pig in it as a result of people leaving the gate open and again placing blocks within letting them out rendering it useless at the moment. Some of the crop farms have been stamped on and not re-planted. Also a cobblestone wall was destroyed to get through and not replaced when there was a wooden gate next to it.

Blob.

Annoying, as this has happened a few time before. I have spent many hours repairing and re-securing the spawn village in the recent past and also restocking the farm.

A few times I've had to put a new metal door on the Disco spawner because someone has left after a creeper has blown it off. That spawner can be quite effective and will throw out a few mobs.

Sfrawd hadn't been on for a while and found someone had holed his house and had also borrowed a few items.

This was pre-locked chests.

Edit - also some one has been into my wheat farm and trampled some of it (for no reason).

Where the heck's the disco spawner - sounds interesting. #

Personally, I think we need to draw a line under historic activities and reset it from the last few weeks  from when the updates were done, re-commitments sent out and server updates. Otherwise we run the risk of revisiting old ground (Mega case in point).

Anyway, up to the admins accordingly.

Ive asked both of my kids and they said that my threat to delete their  minecraft and stop them from using their computer's and the fact they wouldn't like it to happen to them, makes them follow the rules and they will and do let me know if they accidently do anything,  which I or they have fixed asap,

for example lou got hit by a creeper in the spawn village,  repaired the building wall that was damaged and then told me when I got home from work on Monday.  I went to the building and she had repaired it correctly, so I didnt report it.

But I will still reiterate the rules to them tonight even though I know it wasn't them or the people they play with

From a personal perspective, My two have been kept on a real tight leash on the server and are on the strictest of rules as to not messing with stuff / telling me if they break anything. The one time they accidentally damaged something they told me and we went straight off and repaired it (Nether portal railway). It's also one of the reasons why we headed off south to build PenClanLand so we're away from it all and only use the village in transit. I know Sulky's Lou is also with them playing down there along with Mega. So, like you I'm 99.5% it's not my two.

However I appreciate that may not be enough of a guarantee. SO - should it be decided that for the good of all that we need to restrict the server/usage/users/ages then so be it. I will pull mine from the server if needed. It would be a shame but I'm happy to abide by that decision if deemed necessary for the good of all.

Apropos this, is it the whole field or several individual squares? I have noticed on both wheat and carrot fields I've planted that you do lose about 10-15% of them for no reason. You plant them up and some random squares just don't take and revert back to pre-hoe'd settings. Obviously if the whole field is chernobyled then fair enough but that would explain if it's a small proportion. Food for thought (pun intended).

No it was a couple of square - my guess is someone was trying to see how the auto-wheat worked and trampled it a bit. And both sets of kids have been polite, chatty and thoroughly decent so no problems there at all.

It's quite funny watching them talk amongst themselves, especially when they forget that I'm the only other person on and they grumble about grown ups (to be fair I'm not a grown up either).

Also found a few places in nether where red stone torches or track have been erm borrowed... I've replaced any I've found (about a dozen so far) and started carrying spare with me to make repairs as I go round.

Just so we can tick this off one the list at least - after talking to Karrde I think we've established that this is a natural occurrence. I've seen the same happen to my fields while playing. Some blocks (or little clusters) do revert back to pre-hoe'd settings of their own accord. Apparently it's something to do with their location and water.

Doesn't help with the t'other stuff though.

As everyone is aware, Correnopolis is an abundant land, rich is resources with diverse biomes surrounding the centre all which is shared when people need.

What you may not know is that when Correnopolis was founded it was also built on top of a nether portal which led directly to a netherfort. This netherfort was also abundant with resources, including no less than 3 blaze spawners all within bow range of a protected area. Well that was until I went into it today to get some materials to find that all three blaze spawners had been killed.

I don't mind people coming over and using my amenities and resources as long as they are replaced/replanted. But destroying those 3 handy spawners is REALLY annoying and I cant see that it really gave anyone anything :(

Guys, can we be a bit more vigilant please when coming across thing like spawners etc.  there is not normally a reason to kill them off and you maybe in an area that another player has kept them there for a reason!.

I know this incident was in the nether but it means that someone has been through a specific portal, which means you know where you are and in this case you know whose portal you went through, so chances are that at the other end of the portal the area has been worked on by that player.

Please just be careful and consider other players.
