Hello Racers,
You can find the BETA version here https://www.simraceway.com/?locale=en

Or try thier forums here http://community.simraceway.com/

Either way it's free and , I have to say , very nice.

This thread will start the discussion.

Try it..one thing...you might notice it tries over and over again to download and install...those are just tracks.

I give it 7.0 solid so far.

Lets Boo Boo (Watch :The World's End" to get the joke)

Installed ok but it does download a huge amount of data afterwards, I closed the downloader after 6GB due to low disk space.

I'm pretty sure that would be the tracks that are loading, system req are 10.5 gig free space recommended. Mind you now that they have all installed they load really quick when starting the game or changing from track to track.

Haven't seen this raise its head for a while, has it advanced much since the early days or is it still using the stock rFactor1 engine?

Seems very much like an Rfactor mod. I think it is basically just Rfactor 1 re-skinned and tweaked a bit.  But it could be a bit of fun for a while.

A couple of negatives that I have noticed are the auto blip, which I cant seem to turn off.  Not a big deal, but I don't see why we can't turn it off.  Also, TrackIR is not supported which is very odd for a race sim and the fact it's based of RFactor which has support TrackIR for years.

Well, decided to download it to give it a try ... unfortunately they have let there ssl certificate expire so the game client or content downloader won't connect/work until the renewal goes through. Just thought I'd post it up incase any one else was having trouble connecting.

If you can find your PLR file you can most likely disable AutoLift/Blip like this
[ DRIVING AIDS ]
Auto Lift="0" // Whether to automatically lift with manual shifting but auto-clutch (non-semiautomatic trans only)
Auto Blip="0" // Whether to automatically blip with manual shifting but auto-clutch (non-semiautomatic trans only)

And the Trackir support usually is a plugin that goes in the plugin folder.
Same with the RealHeadMotion plugin too I think.

Could not test today as they are down.

Cheers Vobler.  I had thought of that myself, but unfortunately they have encrypted most of the rFactor config files so you can't do anything with them. :/

And the TrackIR plugin seems to be on the "to do list".  I haven't tried just sticking the Rfactor one in Simraceway, might work!

I got to try it today. I even got a few cars, but it is the worst sim I have tried in years. Uninstalled. Lost a few pounds there....
