Right I have played this several times and I'm a complete goon at it. It plays like no racing game I've ever played and I'm all over the shop. I've downloaded loads of your settings but I have no idea what to do with them!!! Do I install them somewhere? Any quick tips to get up n running fast (apart from the obvious like pressing the accelerator ;) )?
The game has undoubted potential and I'd like to play with you lads, but I ain't forking out £12 (that's a little over 1 month's fee on SWG guys!!!) till I assure myself that I can remove these L plates.
Hints, tips, advice, sarcastic bitching....... ;)
Stick the settings in your LFS(or whatever you have named it)/data/settings then when you go to the garage and choose a car you will see in the right hand corner a list of your settings which you have for that particular car beneath [race] and [autocross] which are default setups. I think everyone found this a little difficult first off but if you persevere you will find it is well worth it, I have not heard of one person who has persevered with it and not grown to really enjoy it.
Heres a guide to racing the Blackwood GP circuit: Apex (http://polygon-x.uni.cc/art/Guide/guide.php)
Includes breaking points, best line etc.
The trick at first is to drive smoothly break early get used to the car. Every one seems to want to be world champion in their first day racing and subsequently everyone seems to spend their first few days racing in the sand/trees/grass/brick wall/spectators stand. Concentrate just staying on the track and worry about the speeds later, it wont take long till you improve. :D
Also trawl the LFS forums and you will pick up various hint and tips Here (http://forum.racesimcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=205)
Give a Messenger call when you want and I'll make the server 'demo' and password it so that you can have a practice session. Oh and get teamspeak sorted, it's invaluable!

And if you want me to join the race (more cars the more points for a win)so that you can get extra points and unlock the cars Ron can MSM me.
I have teamspeak but never used it - any tips on configuring? I'm a complete noob and haven't ever really looked twice at it.
1. Turn it on
2. Look for Doorman's speakeasy (cheesey I know) or doorman.gotdns.com
3. Join with password 'deadtalk'
4. Talk
5. Laugh
6. Curse DCG for taking you out
Edited to stop Doormans blushes
Hello Mister, can we have 'edit' on please? :(
Bloody hell! That was quick! The preceding posts aren't enabled for edit though
Don't tell me, edit only lasts for a specified time right?
What do these do:
steer rate
predict time
limit multiplier
And what do you guys set them to?
I am using custom settings and getting fairly regular times of c.1:50 on blackwood gp. What do u guys get on a consistent basis?
have a look HERE (http://lfs.racesimcentral.com/content/sp.php?racer=smitethee) for times per race per car, mostly the times are now consistant times.
As for the rest sorry i dont know. I am not near my pc atm so cant tell you what my settings are.

That might be a tad off putting because Smite is very fast. If you're doing 1:50 in a GTi at Blackwood that's a firm foundation to build on. I'm looking to to a 1:50 any time soon. :(

These are keyboard control settings if you're using a wheel they are of no consequence.
Steer rate = 0.60
Predict time = 0.40
Limit multiplier 1.10
As to what they do.......Beats the s**t outta me!
