Comrades!
We are currently assessing some missions for our server. Assuming they pass our rigorous assessment procedure, we will be playing one (or more!) of them this Sunday evening.
Kick off will be 8pm. Party-approved server passwords can be found here (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?3363-Server-Password). Anybody who joins Teamspeak and asks us what the password is, without consulting the forums, will be put into an iron ball and fired into the sun.
I'm hoping we can reclaim Sunday as our regular Arma night, but having some good stable missions to play is essential. I would encourage everyone to browse the Arma 3 Steam Workshop for missions and give them a go. Basic requirements are that it's a co-op mission with at least 6 player slots. Revive scripts are preferred but we (Benny) can always try to shoe-horn them in with the editor if possible.

Yeah really enjoyed tonight gents, good games and well led, here's to next week (if not before) :boxing:
I fired some rounds, got a bit wounded, didn't die and don't think I hit anything. Back to the old standard ARMA fare methinks :)
Is everyone up for another game this Sunday? Same time, same place.
We have a new mission called 'Eagle Nest Altis' to try out.
I'm back on a working PC so I will definitely be online for this.

Just a heads up so you know. The update that has been rolled out had broken some of the missions so please I beg some patience this evening :)

Good game last night, despite the slightly bonkers Russian mission.
One minor grenade mishap aside, it went rather well :)
Agreed nice team work and nice to see so many

Ahh how I've missed these ARMA nights .
I don't miss the shoddy code crashing our server :(
Tut having brain issues which map was it again?
It would be nice to know what the 'You have been sent to jail for killing US troops,' thing was all about :) I'm thinking that I should have sat out my five minute penalty and then get back into the game. By logging out and back in I think the game punished me for trying to skirt the sin bin time. The irony is of course that it was Toby who wiped us all out, I was completely innocent. :g:

Tut and Lib did find the answer but it meant changing a txt file on the server.
If we can fix/sort out the punish/ban thing then that first map we started on could be good. OK it'll probably take hours to complete but that means we can dive in for an evening and just do different areas each time, gradually working out what we're supposed to do and then maybe one evening aiming to do it all in one go?
It may be hard and I think choppers should only be used as transport to get to the outskirts of the next target rather than trying to use them offensively, as they seem to have anti-air covered quite comprehensively. :)
At least it ran OK.
I can't remember the mission name either. If you showed me a list of maps on the server I could probably tell you which one it was - I'll have a quick check when I get home tonight.
I don't know if the TK-ban was a mission-specific setting or something we can configure in our server config. Maybe Oldie (or anyone else who has direct access to the server) can have a look at our config for us, and fix where required.
My only problem with that mission is not knowing where to go, it got a bit aimless at the end - we were just wandering around not sure of which direction to go in. I have no idea how you're supposed to interrogate the enemy commanders without killing them (they're armed, and will shoot you if they see you).
Yes, trying to use the Ghosthawks in a CAS role was a bit of a mistake. It turns out the buggers were armed to the teeth with SAMs. Lesson learned.
Yep a clue about enemy locations would be a help. It's a nice idea to approach in helicopters and land a mile or two short of the target area. But when we don't know where the target area is, we will only find out when we fly over and they shoot us out of the sky! Maybe we should run a recon team in a vehicle with a sniper and some binocular wielding spotter to hunt them down. I'm happy to play a longer game, taking our time and searching out the enemy (this is Arma) , assuming we actually find them :)
That's a neat idea. A recon team of two chopper out to high ground and set up an observation point with binoculars and thermal scopes.
If they spot a target the assault team chopper in, land a mile or two out and attack by foot.
Yeah like that idea, the mission itself is a very good idea just wish they had added a few 'clues' or something of where the enemy are, not necessarily telling you exactly where they are but sort of 'intel' already gathered or something. I'm guessing that most, if not all, towns/villages are inhabited by enemy so we could start with the nearest and then go from there?
Would be good to maybe keep that mission 'active' on the server so we can pop in and out when people please if a spurious night presents itself? Or even if only a few people fancy it on a random night.
Nice game last night chaps - thanks to Sneaky for stepping up and leading us to a glorious victory.
Sparko's mission is shaping up very nicely, I look forward to seeing the second half :)
Needs more mini subs ;) but otherwise a better. Well done.

yeah great games guys, loved the first attempt, classic ARMA!!
I will be sure to make the last part of the mission that little bit harder than the first part
