Title: FSX (again)
Post by: sulky_uk on October 04, 2013, 04:38:29 PM
So after the ARMA game last night a couple of us got talking, and we thought that we could maybe get a game of FSX up using game-spy where we could just have a fly around a certain airport and generally have a f*-*k around.

Haven't a date for it yet but we will keep you informed, please put your name down if you are interested, and with an area you may like to fly at

BTW Sparko Madagascar is rather boring, flew around today and there is  neigh much in the way of canyons and interesting things that i could see, and i took the liberty of adding you and Lib as discussed last night

1) Sulky
2) Sparko
3) Lib
4) TL
5) Albert

My joystick broke today, but assuming I have replaced it then I'd be up for it.    Still to decide whether to go for the more expensive yoke & pedals or just a joystick - suggestions welcome!

Not Windows 8 compatible it seems :(

I'll go with a joystick though for sure, cost of yokes seems excessive for my limited use.    I'll take a browse around the current joystick crop and see what I can find.   The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro seems decent?

Count me in guys. I'm pretty new at the Flight Sim stuff. Although I did play IL Sturmovic (spelling error assured) a lot in the day. That was awesome. But I enjoyed the views in FSX.

Just a thought, shall we get together at some point at the LAN for half hour to get a flight plan sorted? I'll have it installed

I can install it on the laptop, no idea how it will run.

Bought the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, very happy with it so far.   It's incredibly stable and light years away from the old joystick it has just replaced.

I've gone through the first 6 tutorials being new to the game, and found this pure enjoyment, nice call to get back into FSX.

On another front TL, Pebble Beach is now on WGT! For another nice view ;-)

The XBox controller was a bit restrictive, but I thought I better try to use it since I won't be brining my Saitek flight yoke and stick to the LAN.

Trying to do a few more before Thursday.

Ok, how about the alps? Let's try it on gamespy and see how it goes. I suggest twin prop hop from Grenoble and see how we get on?

Albert, I'll show you a few routes at the LAN and see where you fancy going but seriously ditch the controller, will let you use my stick at the LAN and see how you get on (no rude replies please :P )

Short hop or 2 happening tomorrow night about 8pm if anyone is interested, probably something heavy. Maybe take the DC3's ?

Thought maybe Edinburgh (EGPH) to Gatwick (EGKK) ? Will get a flight plan posted up and a .pln file for people to upload into fsx gps so it's nice and easy.  Should be some good and challenging 'real world' weather tomorrow night :)

ok so it didn't got as planned, the DC3s were way to slow, so we airbus-ed it instead. Actually a lot of fun, i had a vertical take off due to a mismatched ts key, Tea has something similar, but dived instead, but we all survived and no virtual kittens were killed in the playing of this game. Due to an internal error (me turning of the computer i lost the screen grab of the airbus flight, heres some dc3's (before we canned it) instead
