have you logged off steam, deleted the "blob" file in your steam directory and then tried again?

there is a file in your steam folder called ClientRegistry.blob which, if deleted, seems to automagically fix many problems after Steam updates. If you do delete the file it will be recreated when you start Steam. Might be worth a reboot before you do this though. Don't know if it will fix your problem but it won't make it worse :)

Not really in french "pommes" means "apple" and "pommes de terre" means "potatoe". Obvious really.  8)
