Please keep in mind when doing your own research for this fight that the fight was significantly changed in the hotfix on 24th September, so it is now much like Normal mode but harder.

QuoteIMPORTANT: This is encounter was recently changed and is more or less nerfed.

Changes
- You start at 75 Corruption (previously 50)
- Orb tick is no longer instant (previously ticked immediately granting 5 corruption)
- Manifestation a.k.a "Big add" no longer applies corruption on AoE pulse damage

How do these changes effect the encounter?
Means DPS only need to go in once as they'll never go above 0 corruption once they're out, making the fight far easier.

We'll be treating this as Normal mode in all other regards.

We might need to 2 heal this one to beat the enrage.  Others have done it, including one Aszune guild that one-shot it this way.

We get 4 orbs, not 2, and we'll mark 4 corners to help positioning.  We'll be aiming to rotate 3 through to the other realm each time.

Probably 1H + 2 DPS for first - this will make the 1H Normal realm a little tricky, so be aware, but it will allow greater orb soaking later by clearing your corruption at start.

We will need to stagger the appearance of the big adds, so some will be allocated to kill it first, others might be tasked to kill it last.   This will smooth out the inbound AOE damage in the Normal realm.
Communication will be key to getting this right.

DPS  & Purple Orbs
DPS will be getting involved with orb soaking on Heroic.
If you're going to the test realm then you need to soak the purple orb spawned by the person prior to you in the rotation.   Ie first big adds get their purple orbs soaked by the people about to go take their own test, hence getting them zero'd out immediately.

Tanks & healers can then handle the last phase orbs, plus (if needed) the lowest dps as a backup.

Intense healing phases:
-when a big add is out in the Normal realm (watch the stagger of inbound aoe)
or
-in last 50% when a new big add spawns every 10%
(we'll probably ignore the last add @ 10%)

I feel like the importance of this particular tidbit of info cannot be understated, so for the sake of repeating a smarter man than I, there it is once more.

Have spoken with an old guild mate, they use this if any interest, always good to have an alternative:

With the changes to the fight, you can adopt a normal mode style strat, this part has been well documented, but I would also add another recommendation, send 3 players on your first two rotations.

I know it sounds like blasphemy and every guide out right now is saying do 2 people at a time. But sending one tank or healer with 2 dps in your first two rotations makes life VERY easy.

Only things to keep in mind are that double manifestation spawns can be heavy on the healing, the good news is since you're doing them so early the icy fear debuff isn't hurting for much at all yet. Also, by doing them early your raid cd's and 3 minute healing cd's are back around toward the end of the fight when you need them.

The manifestations can be stunned, which stops their own aoe for the duration of the stun. Assign a couple players to stun them once the tank has them in melee range (cleave damage is always good).

If you get through the two double spawns of manifestations, you're pretty much done with the fight. Our rotation looked like this.

Tank /Hunter 1/Rogue
Tank 2/Hunter 2/Mage
Warlock and Spriest
Burn (Tanks cleanse as needed).

So basically, Tank 2 and one healer will soak the two manifestations to come out first, putting them both at 100%.
Tank 1 will then soak the next 4 manifestations.
At that point, All dps are cleansed, with Tank 1 at 100% coruption, and tank 2 clean. Pop heroism/bloodlust and begin burn phase (boss should be around 50% health at this point).

Send Tank 1 in to get cleansed while Tank 2 soaks the next 2. After this, tank 1 soaks the rest.

As I know a lot of guilds use healers for soaking duty, you could just substitute "healer" everywhere I've put "tank" and vice versa (in other words, on the first set of manifestations on of the tanks would soak one bringing him/her to 100% corruption).

We prefer tanks to handle soaking since they can end their phase early once they've got some vengeance (my co-tank is a warrior so spell reflect ftw). From what I've seen, healers really cannot unless they are able to put out strong dps while healing on heroic, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this one.

Also, by sending a healer in, they're not available when the double manifestations spawn, since they can't end their phase as fast as the dps can (again, as far as I've seen, could be wrong).

We use:

Tank 1 / dps 1 / dps2
Tank 2 / dps 3 / dps 4
dps 5 / dps 6
Tank 1

2 Healers :D
