Post by: Dexterous on December 11, 2013, 05:14:52 PM
I go on a server, okay everything's normal and then suddenly...
Minecraft not responding
JAVA(TM) PLATFORM SE BINARY HAS STOPPED WORKING
Any advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated as I do not have a clue on how to do this :g:
Thanks-Megamaker2000

Oh yeah just in case any of you are wondering-I do use some mods but this happens in all my games-Online/offline, mods/no mods; well you get the point

I've heard that playing Minecraft full screen can sometimes cause this. Playing windowed mode might stop the crash but it probably doesn't fix the underlying problem, sorry.

If you're on a laptop you could just pick it up carry it over to your dad and demand "Fix! Now!" and see what happens?

Seriously though Sparko's link is a good find.

Might be due to multiple Java versions being installed and fighting each other.

This page has a simple solution. (http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/remove_olderversions.xml)

Yep, already checked that one and uninstalled an older 64 bit update update, but other than that the system had a clean bill of health.

@Smilo: he did, and I failed to fix it so I sent him here to find better help than I!

Not sure what else to suggest tbh other than a total reinstall of both java and minecraft :(

I had an issue with Java on my laptop but i didn't get the same message as you, I couldn't actually launch the game to start with
