There's been an update to the Hangar module that now lets you fire the weapons attached to your ship(s). I've been reading a few forums where quite a few people are struggling to work out how to make the firing range work. I'm not sure if any dMwers are having issues but if so here's a quick and dirty guide.
1. Approach the Holotable (some players report bugs on the table by the firing range, so use the original that came with the hangar)
2. When the 'use' prompt appears click 'F' This activates the Holo Table
3. Click 'Tab' to interact with the Table
4. Drag your ship to the middle of the Hologram, it becomes active.
5. Select 'weapons' from the top scrolling menu on the Hologram by dragging the menu from right to left.
6. Click on a weapon and drag it from it's weapon mount on the ship to the middle of the Hologram, this removes it from it's hard point.
7. Select ships from the top menu
8. Select the RSI Weapons Mount and drag it to the middle of the Hologram. This now becomes your active 'ship'
9. Select weapons from the top menu.
10. Click on your weapon and drag it onto the hard-point of the weapons mount.
11. Click tab to leave the Holotable and go to the weapons mount. Enter it by clicking 'F' when the 'use' prompt appears.
12. Go mental
TLDR
Select your ship, drag a weapon of it's mount point, select the gun mount, drag the weapon onto the gun mount, shoot stuff.

I can't get my cannons to mount at all.
It doesn't show any weapons for my ship yet.
Not every weapon is ready yet as RSI haven't completed all the sounds, mussel flashes etc. I can only speak for the 300i which comes with A&R Omnisky VI laser cannons. I can see the weapons mounted on their hard points on my ship and they can be used on the gun mount. You do have to physically remove the guns from the ship in the Holotable and drag them onto the gun mount. It's certainly clunky and I hope the interface is improved before the launch.
cool, lasers work for me. Word of advice, dont miss the targets and hit the back wall, the laser bounces back and nearly hits you in the face :( or even worse hits your ship..
Also not all weapons have been animated etc so your guns might not work on the gun rig. My lasers work fine but the railgun seems to be a bit of a place holder at the moment.
I don't have lasers, just 4 forward cannons and a missile launcher.

Teaches me for being a cheapskate. Might have to put them on my shopping list to get later.
Edit: Apparently I have Bulldog laser repeaters. So I'm not using ballistic. Hangar says I have 4 of them but the stats page says it comes with 2 and 2 spare slots.
Not sure about that ship. I know the Devs have said that they won't add guns to the firing range until they have the firing and impact animation sorted. So a specific gun on a ship might not work on the range. Likewise when the dogfight module is released some pledge ships might not be ready to fly. In which case a player will get a substitute ship until theirs is finished.

I'm having a few problems downloading the hanger module. I've logged on easily enough but the patch won't download. It has just stayed as speed 0... I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, 3 separate internet connections. Any ideas?

Weird, I've reinstalled Star Citizen 3 times and still the problem persists. It loads just doesn't complete the last patch just shows 0 on speed forever... Anyone else had this issue?
Both mine and Tsuchino's worked fine the first time. Did you try posting on the SC forums?
One way of doing it would be copying it from another dMw'er nearby.
Very strange, can't say I have had this issue and can't find anything on google either, obviously it's client side if you have tried other tinternet connections. Have you tried different firewall settings etc? Does it stop at the same point every time?
I would try leaving it over night to be honest and see if it kicks in at some point.

Router QoS settings, ISP throttle, UK webfilter (heard it messes up some stuff(would be all of the brits though..))
Try creating a virtual machine, install it on it. If it works, something on your physical is problematic. Either find it and fix it or copy/paste from virtual to physical.
Its quite odd, after reinstalling it gets the initial patches quickly but on the last one it just doesn't work. I am trying to install it on a Macbook Air (newest version) on parallels, maybe i should bootcamp it? I'm getting my shuttle pc with windows 7 on next week so maybe i should just give up trying to run it on my mac?
