It works for the test and in windows(speech recognition etc), tried a re-install of steam and its a new-ish windows 7 64 bit install but still no joy. Any one had any problems similar ?
Don't have it set up with Windows recognition I think it holds on to it and won't let it go.
I suggest installing ts and testing there and then it should work with CS. Hope it helps

Presumably you're on Windows 7/8. Have you tried right clicking on your volume icon, selecting 'Recording devices' and made sure everything's enabled? Checked the volume levels etc?
Maybe if you post up some screenshots of your settings from there, we might be able to spot any problems....
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, mic works in mic test in cs:go and teamspeak so I am assuming its a steam/cs:go problem ?

Check to see if cs:go or steam is muted in volume controls

There all fine, seems to be a lot of people with the same problem but no fix as yet, probably have to wait for an upodate
Is CS / Steam defo using the correct device under the drop down options?
Could try binding a different key just in case there is a conflict?
Yeah, checked that, disabled other recording devices, seems like its dropping out when it goes into game. The icon shows up in game so push to talk is working .
Check in advanced I think it is that Windows isn't giving programs pirorty over anything else

Unticked no difference, its getting to be a pain, lol.
Things to try:
Ensure that mic is both default and default communication device (right click on mic)
Run CS with admin rights
Launch CS, alt-tab, disable/enable mic, alt-tab back into CS
Attach mic to onboard port
Console in-game:
voice_enable 0
voice_enable 1
Try a different mic, preferably usb
Combinations of all the above
Hope you get this sorted Norm, but don't let it stop you joining.
Have you tried joining us on TS?
I'm sure I heard your voice the other day.
Cheers Blunt,Gorion, hopefully get it sorted soon.
Well even after doing a full system upgrade(MB,sound, cpu and memory) still got no joy with mic. :g: Any other ideas guys ?
Did you try a different mic? Since I changed to a usb one, windows never gives me any problems with them.
Before it was a headache.
I'm trying to avoid having to buy another as I have just bought the one I have at the moment, I'll try and borrow a usb one to see if it makes a difference.
Hi
I've had this problem for over 8 months.
Did you ever fix this?
