Titanfall beta will be released on feb 14 for pc and xboxone .
Watching this closely. It looks like it might be a really decent game. However it's published by EA, requires an Origin account to activate and play and seems to be an Xbox port. With the dreadful trinity of EA, Microsoft and Origin I'm definitely going to wait and see whether any lessons have been learnt or if the launch is going to be another off line server, DRM crippled mess. I'm certainly not dropping £45 on this till the launch dust has settled.

It does look sweet but with all that baggage :withstupid::withstupid:
This will have to be pretty damn special to get any money out of me.
BF4 was a boring, crushingly buggy mess.
I received a beta code for the pc version in my mailbox today. Going to try it out this weekend :)
For some reason I got an Xbox key yesterday & I figured that was my chance gone, but I just got a code for PC, so I shall install & have a try.
Got my access a week ago or so, finally had time to try it out, and its fairly fun so far :)
I couldn't even get ea's site to load the beta giveaway last week. I just took it as a sign... ;)

Anyone tried the PC version yet? Any good?
I played a good couple of hours over the weekend (on a PC). Pretty smooth for a beta. I had issues connecting to the matchmaking servers on friday eve. From saturday onwards everything *just worked*. No long wait times, no crashes, nothing.
I found it very enjoyable.
I played it last night and my conclusion is that £46 quid is a rip off of epic proportions. This game is very low-rent. I'd recommend Hawken over it any day.
The game is XBOX 360 material. The textures were truly appalling for a post-2007 PC game! It's written using the Source graphics engine (as used in Half-Life 2) - they say "Heavily modified" but that's like saying "I have a 2004 Ford Fiesta, but it's like new because it's heavily modified!". The engine shows it's age and while stable and absurdly fast on a post 2010 PC, it's bland compared to most current games.
Gameplay is frenetic with mechs and soldiers running in all directions. It's like "Section 8", but without the same clear objectives and a different look.
The game ran fine on my PC, i.e. it didn't crash to desktop like BF4. But the run-and-gun twitch-shooter FPS is not a game I want to play. Visually the HUD is too busy and distracts from the.. oh, I'm dead again. So, in the eight milliseconds you took to look at the mini-map to work out where the hell you spawned, you're dead again. Then the obligatory console mainstay of a kill-cam reply of how your killer saw and shot you.
This is Call Of Duty in a mech setting. All hype and no trousers. It might be "state of the art" for the XBOX One (which can only run this in 720p) but it's "circa 2007" for the PC gaming community and should be priced as such, either £19.99 or IMO F2P.
My thoughts exactly Arithon.
If u want a mech game go for mech warrior online
