i have just been browsing sum forums with lan oragnisers, what sort of power supply does the venue have single phase or 3 phase,
coz they recon that you cant really have much more than 20 ppl on a single phase if other things are operating on the same supply[heating, cookers, kettles etc]
just wondering if this has been checked out, coz older builings only tend to have single phase.
Don't worry Sheepy.
I'm sure FatBob checked that the Hotel had it's own 'Leccy sub-station in the basement.

Anyone else remember the olden days when there were only single phases?
:) :) :)
Er....this is March were talking about - electricity  what new fangled thing is that then :?:
each pc draws about 1amp (240 watts). Each monitor draws about 1amp.
thats 2amps per player....
thats 40amps for 20 players, equiv to 3.07 elecy fires on full blast.
Wont matter anyway sheepy as i very much sure that all the sockets in the room where we are would all be on the same phase anyway. Infact im pretty much sure that having sockets in the same room on diffrent phases would be against the IEE regs.
Assuming there's no one trying to boil water or running a 3 bar electric fire on that ring main then i dont forsee a problem.
the only reason i asked is coz sum ppl that i talked 2 said that if u use kettles etc when there r more comps than 20 or so runnin on single phase then the circuit goes, so i thought i better ask
WHAT ??? We need electricity do we.
Love from fatbob on holiday in cornwall.
