There was a plethora of new ships at the back end of 2013 and nothing since then, so where did they all go?
Answer: all the in-game assets and particularly those that will be required first for Squadron 42 needed to be updated to the new PBR (physically based rendering) system. There's a ton of ships being updated, so we'll see a lot of changes to a lot of ships in due course along with the usual launches of funding goal ships.
Avenger owners can see examples of the PBR work in the below video which was posted in Nov 2013 to flag up the PBR updates that were underway. Non-Avenger owners should not look, it will only make you jealous!
...and if we have any Vanduul Scythe owners:
Shiny :-)
...I think my poor old gpu just had a minor heart attack thinking about all that detail in the middle of a dogfight...
Keep in mind they are developing the models and the CPU/gfx loads at levels where today they will stretch all but the top-end systems, but by release should be manageable for the mainstream.
That Scythe and the eerie gloomy music.
I like it I think it is a little cut down open to the elements ie you can see the fuel lines etc but it adds to it this game just seems to ramp it up all the time. I hope it can continue you.
These look really good, shame my GT9800 doesn't support dx11 :/
Time to start planning an upgrade :)

Yeap, easier now as Galatoni gave me his old Radeon HD 6850. That should give my system a little more life. (Cheers Galatoni, I owe you a beer or 10)
I want a Scythe! Naow! :woot2:
If I remember right, there will be chances to steal one, however you will have Vanduul after your head once you do.
