I've been working with Frenzy on new branding for our Org. Check it out here ...
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/DMW
You'll notice that we're severely lacking in the History, Manifesto and Charter departments. Volunteers please to help flesh these out.
If you'd like a personalised signature as per mine let me know. If you'd like the PSD file so you can have a play yourself then PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.
I'll have a think about what we can write. Nice work.

Nice work :) I can't see the W though although that could be because I'm viewing it on a tablet?
Will have a think and post some ideas if I think of any
Been a bit busy. Are we looking to write stuff about us the gaming community or are we writing 'in character' about our organisation? Or a bit of both?
Quote from: smilodon;382141... Are we looking to write stuff about us the gaming community or are we writing 'in character' about our organisation? Or a bit of both?
Toby and I were discussing this and we thought maybe a bit of both. Be cool if some sort of dMw lore could be manufactured that details how the descendants a small gaming community formed in the late 20th century became the group known as DMW in the SC 'verse.
Maybe start a thread where we can all chip in with story ideas that dovetails our little tale into the established SC back story.
Over to you
Aye, a bit of both would be cool. I tried to do a minute amount of that on our //landing%20page, so a fuller backstory would be awesome!
DeadMenWalking, a faction from a forgotten war waged eons ago. Records claim that they emerged victorious every single time they were deployed, using wits, guile, and group tactics in order to outsmart legions of enemies. Such was their co-ordination, that enemies accused them of using forbidden arts, and technologies in order to gain an advantage. The truth however was trust. Trust of each other, whilst working as a singular collective to achieve an defend their ideologies.
Today, they exist within the stars, descendants of the faction from ages past. Their legacy continues, will you join them and together shape the future?
A bit of muse before I hit the sack..

Both done. Sent via PM with instructions on how to use the sigs here and on the RSI forum.
These the nifty name tags in your sig?
I like the history on the DMW page but I must have a dirty mind because every time I read "mature fun" it makes me smile. Was that an intended double entendre?

Shout if you'd like one matey.
Mature? Did you not see what we got up to at the LAN
What sort of content is supposed to go into the Charter and Manifesto section?
Might write some stuff up again when I'm in the mood.
The Charter is our rules I think, so anything specific we want to ensure people adhere to would go there. Alternately you could consider it a list of our founding principles, which I think sounds better than "these are the rules".
The Manifesto would be our statement of intent, what we are going to do, not sure how specific we would want to be here at this point.
*shouts* - Yes please would love a signature tag.

Done. Check your PMs.

That would be appreciated :thumb:
Lets see if this is working.
Hmm lets try that again, thanks for the tag :)
Man I fail at forums, geez it better be working now. On a side note Banu Merchantman.......mmmmm.
Been reading the previous version, and I think I've come up with a better sounding one:
DeadMenWalking, a faction from a forgotten war waged aeons ago. Historical records claim they emerged victorious in all their deployments, using wits, guile, and group tactics in order to outsmart legions of enemies. Their level of co-ordination was unheard-of at the time, enemies accused them of using forbidden arts, and technologies in order to gain an advantage. The truth however was trust. Trust of each other, whilst working as a singular collective to achieve an defend their ideologies.
The texts claim they shaped the path to the future. Today, they dwell within the stars, descendants of the faction from ages past. Their legacy continues, will you join them and together shape the future?
Suggestions?

Implemented :D
Sorry for the delay in responding. This one slipped under the radar somehow :g:
The move to BA5 has broken the links to our signatures. To repair this here and on the RSI forum you need to change all occurrences of ...
lfs.deadmen.co.uk
to ...
77.108.135.2
If you're having any problems doing this give me a shout.
Still waiting for my new one :(

Thanks mate :)
Didn't really know if this was the right way to go about it. Is there any chance I could get one of those bad-a** signatures? I'm not too hot with photoshop but if you don't have time, thats cool - I'll figure it out ;) It'll be fun... you know, a coder trying to use CSS properly kinda-fun.

Also if there is anything you need volunteers for SC-wise, let me know.

No worries. I'll sort it out and PM you the details.

Niiiice... can't wait. They're really neat!
You're most welcome.
Hi guys,
I'd love one of those signatures for my RSI forum profile, if it's not too much trouble =D
Happy to do it myself if that would be easier for you.
Cheers,
Obsydian
Same here, Alberht with an H is my Handle.
OB is the man that can I am sure he will sort you once he is back.
OB needs to think about retirement. This SC thing is going to be a full time job!

I'm on it, guys. Expect a PM shortly.
Quick question: does anyone own the copyright to the skull graphic that appears in our org logo?
The reason I ask is that I spotted an almost exct copy of it being used in some sample work being touted in this thread:
https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/171430/apex-designs-logos-banners-backgrounds-etc
Edit: never mind...I should have scrolled down! Just seen OB's post in that thread... :)
I'm thinking about having a DMW t-shirt made for CitizenCon, but none of the designs in the current store are what I had in mind.
What I was thinking of was:
- Black or tan/khaki t-shirt with short sleeves.
- The DMW logo (the one from our Org page), large and in white, on the back, possibly with "[dMw]" underneath it.
- A small Star Citizen logo, in white, over the left breast (where a pocket usually goes) with the words "Dead Men Walking" underneath it.
- Maybe a small DMW logo on the left or right sleeve.
Any ideas as how best to go about this?
Cheers,
Obsydian :)
I'm interested too, will put the thinking cap on and see if we can come up with anyone suitable.
sounds good, and generally it would be nice if there were more options on the shirt style (if you go to a standard spreadshirt page you can pick from polo, T, football-style, etc)
I think Toby has arranged such things in the past mainly for LAN events. I'm sure a simple as giving the printers a template showing the exact position of the graphics and the more of them you order the cheaper per unit it becomes.

Could some kind soul perhaps send me the graphics used for our SC logo and perhaps the SC signature?
If I get them, I could try and put something together myself and have one printed for the Con and then maybe do something 'official' for later.

That'll be Oldie then!
