Title: Mission test
Post by: TwoBad on March 21, 2014, 02:52:16 PM
I know most of you will have other things/games planned for a Friday but is anyone about who can help test a mission with me?  I will have the help of Blob and Cheesy but could may be do with one or two more.  I will try and host on my machine but not sure how that will cope.  It's not fully complete but most of the main components are there and I'd like to run through all the tasks etc.

Cheers

Time sounds good.  Might need you to host Sparko, not sure how it will be for us with an internet game with 3 PC's on the same LAN but I'll give it a go first.

Thought I'd report back on the issues we had.

Next task after we completed the airfield not coming up
I think this actually was working but didn't show up because I'd forgotten to make our team leader the player and then of course we killed him!  As tasks are synced to him they didn't come up.

Transport in the hanger
Changed one to an Ifrit HMG and set them to spawn at a height of 1 so hopefully they won't get stuck but we will see

The final task link
Fixed the link, had it in the Task Title when it should have been in the Description

Final task showing straight away
Sparko, this may interest you as i think I've figured out how to work around the bug that shows the tasks too early.  In my testing this works but we need to test in anger to be sure.  The reason it showed last night (i think) was because i had a trigger synced to two tasks.  So i have created two triggers which are exactly the same, the first fires straight away on completion of the task and pops up the message Task Complete.  The second trigger has a 5 second delay so, as the Task Complete message fades the New Task message pops up.  This (in my own test last night at least) stopped the final task being shown from the start of the mission and gets the popup messages to show in the correct order (instead of getting the New Task shown before the previous Task Complete).
