CS:GO is pretty cheap, will run well on most rigs and is played every evening on our server.

How about some LFS with our racers?   They're slightly less keen on contact than you can get away with in NFS, but it's great fun dialling a car in and taking part in the races!

Yeah, come racing :thumb: download LFS from here: http://www.lfs.net/ it functions as a demo with one track until you buy it.

Downloaded, guess i'll need to invest in wheel and pedals now, and get my eyefinity setup going.

I'd use the mouse first to see if the games for you, a good wheel is expensive just to try, mousers are just as fast :)

That's where the wheel helps tbh, it gives you that steady feedback and the ability to smoothly apply the input.    I get my wheel out from time to time to play LFS and whilst it is somewhat long in the tooth, it's still great fun, especially when you are on a circuit or in a car you are not used to and most especially when you're on TS at the same time having a good laugh!

If you manage better than a 1:40 lap around the Blackwood track then you're ready for multiplayer, but beware as idiots haunt the demo servers, so don't get too frustrated when they keep crashing into you, just join another server. If you let us know when you're ready for some online racing, we'll jump on a demo server with you :thumb:

You may find you pick it up quicker if you join multi player, however as Jamin posted be prepared for a few idiots as you get a few in demo. Try and pick a well moderated server such as any of the [AA], [AMG] and [Mrc] servers and just explain you are new, there are usually a lot of friendly/helpful people on there, or even better like Jamin posted try and get a few of us to join you :)

Mouse is certainly good enough to be competitive with, I still drive with a mouse and whilst I'm not the quickest out there I don't do too bad. Infact a fair few world record lap times are still set with mouse although it does take some getting used to.

I'll try and get my keyboard-setup working better. Got issues with understeering, so atm i can't even complete one lap.

Good start, especially using mouse control :)
Try using different setups, within  a small period of time you should be capable of well under 1:40.
When I first started 7 years ago my best time after about a month was 1.39.8
My PB is now 1:34.75 and I'm a doddering old fart, having completed over 450 racing laps
and hundreds more practice laps. THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR PRACTICE (and racing).
Following someone around on a lap gives you a better insight of what the car can do.
Ben (jamin) can do a 1:34:31 and he has 1280 laps under his belt. Once you start racing, your times will tumble.

All keyboard turning for me, atm i feel like i need more braking power from the setup i'm using, and more power going out the corners.
Considered buying a cheaper wheel, see if it doesn't comes more natural to me.

Personal best sofar, has been 1:40:01 but mostly i'm stable around the 42's. Reckon it will help with a little tweaking of my setup.
Will be on when i get an evening without being knackered Jamin
