Title: Great Racing
Post by: Lameduck on March 27, 2014, 09:30:08 PM
Oh how I thoroughly enjoyed racing on the server tonight where I managed to drive for a whole 25 seconds in the one hour race before being punted off.

Smokey the Bandit (Wizard DK) managed to hit CrazyR1 within 5 yards of the start, making Jamin swerve to avoid a collision and then collecting
Mr Turtle and Perszing96PL on his way to hitting the wall.

Perszing96PL managed to hit Hempy, CrazyR1 in the first 100 meters or so, before hitting
Gooner and then myself.

All this before we had even started braking for T1.

Wonderful, very fulfilling.

Truely feeling sorry about this, ducky!

Perszing96PL showed a true lack of respect and very poor driving. Class (multi car) races are hard enough without people not understanding the differences in acceleration and braking these cars exhibit (heck I almost collected Seany on the first hill chicane due to brake differences).

I hope this won't deter Mr Duck from future races, because that would truly be a great loss to this league.

I feel for yah Bob, was looking forward to some close racing today.

Watched the replay last night and almost jumped back in the server to ban Perszing96PL from the recent list. (he ruined the race for some and said thankyou like he was hard done by)

The first 2 times i read your post Bob i thought i detected sarcasm lol , unlucky mate that was a crap situation (and nothing you could have done)

Not a chance id like to see someone try lol.

Unlucky Bob.

I watched the replay and that Perszing96PL guy has earned himself a ban in my view.  Absolutely no patience (never mind the fact it was an hour race).  He purposely barged twice (no missed brake points etc) before t1 instead of just settling in behind a car.  eg trying to win in the first corner... :sideways:

I think the Wizard DK had that collision due it looking, momentarily, like Gooner had stalled on the grid.  He lagged for a split second on the green light.

I'm very sorry for yesterday's situation, but I started to break in a good place. I was hit from the right and hit the wall, I'm sorry, but I tried to run to the left. I think that this situation will not happen again and please unban me.
I started at the back, as a noob on the keyboard (Kn) broke my lap.
I think you understand me, I do not want to disturb anyone.

Following our discussion this evening, and having heard that we had an honoured guest on Blackwood, I tootled over for a chat.
Herewith, a multi player file for your perusal. Place gently in your .mpr folder and replay.

I had kicked and warned you earlier in the week, for the aggressive manner of your driving. On Thursday, despite you being a quick driver, you did not take part in qualifying, making the decision to force your way through the other drivers, despite it being a one hour race.  You were not hit from the right, YOU hit the guy on your right and then hit me, there is no evidence that you braked at all.
You are not a noob. You have over 80,000km of track experience and we have many drivers who use keyboard or mouse to control their cars.

We keep replays of EVERY race on our server and examine them before we issue or lift bans

I looked exactly the replay and say that at the moment of impact the car got me on the right path. There's no slowed, so I would consider it a racing incident, and in addition there was a big lag.
Write what you think about it.

My opinion for what its worth, That is not a racing incident, you were flat out and could see the gap you were trying to dive into closing yet you don't even lift let alone brake until you had made contact causing the pile up and ending someone's race. Had you have lifted off the throttle all three cars would have made T1

Gav is right PERSZING96PL, you needed to just lift off and sit behind them 2 cars, it was the first 30 seconds of a 1 hour race, you had all the time in the world to pick off places.  Learn by your mistake and try to calm down ;-)
