Title: Challenging a parking ticket?
Post by: suicidal_monkey on April 20, 2014, 08:42:41 PM
Any good advice on how to go about challenging a parking ticket, and what to do, or not do, in the process? :sideways:

I have photos of where I was parked, and also the parking suspension notice - that does not indicate the bay I was parked in - plus a few other parts of the street.

Cheers

Is it a private or public car parking ticket? This is important were you on private land or on a public road or highway? Email the manager of the parking department as this sometimes helps, appeal but do not pay the fine at this stage as paying it acknowledges you were in the wrong and you cannot subsequently appeal the ticket as well as freezes the fee at the cheaper rate.

It's standard (council?) residents only parking (I had the appropriate residents permit)
