I've seen the lancasters fly over my work place in cleethorpes the last week or so whilst they have been taking people up for a large fee from Humberside (EGNJ). The sound of 1 is incredible, must have been a scary sight and sound of a formation flying over your house in the war, truly amazing :)

I was driving home from work on Monday and a Hurricane (probably on it's way to Duxford) flew right over my car at low altitude. That Merlin engine sound.......
They flew a Spitfire at Farnborough and the commentator sat in complete silence for the whole display. At the end he said that the sound of the engine was the only worthy commentary for the worlds most iconic aircraft. IMHO Hurricanes and Lancasters sit alongside the Spitfire in terms of the iconic presence. A rare treat to see them both together. Thanks for the great pics.
