Hi guys, I have downloaded the voice attack installer to use in star citizen but when I try to run it a message pops up saying "Error 1719. Windows installer service could not be accessed. Contact your support personnel to verify that it is properly registered and enabled."
I'm on Windows 8.1 Pro - 64 bit
I'm stumped in terms of what to do and so is Tealeaf, any help you could lend me would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried running the installer as an administrator?
Yep and we got the same error.
Also tried /sfc scannow and reregistering & restarting the net service stuff as I found some web pages linking to NET file corruptions.
I have it installed on the same software as Mega and it works fine for me.
Does it require .net framework?
No idea, it was linked to the error so I thought it worth a try as I was otherwise stumped.

Just read the notes, Net Framework v3.5 is a requirement for VA.

I've never had a problem with VA but by all accounts the VA Forum is moderated by the guy who actually wrote it and he is supposedly excellent and very hands on with any problems, if your still having no luck I'd head there next.
Posted to the support forum, thanks for the suggestion :)
Thanks for all the helpful comments - We eventually fixed it by reinstalling Net Framework, I'm not sure what exactly what the problem was as I had the same version I installed again but it worked and that's the point! ;D
There are two versions of .net - client and full. Most .net standalone apps just need client but some enterprise grade stuff needs full of which VA might.q
Just for reference in case anyone else has this problem, this was the NET framework we reinstalled:

And the zip version of the VA installer we used:
