Nice these finally arrived, but considering all standard equipment on all ships will be upgraded in the PU pretty quick, the Limited Edition Cutlass Blue only adds a different cockpit & the possibility to go 1 tier higher on your shield, also only 30FU Cargo space unless you pull out the holding cells, it seems with 6 holding cells the Blue would maybe meant to travel with your Idris in convoy to lock up everyone you capture, i mean you can't really be expecting to capture 6 people on your own in a ship with only 3 crew ? Unless your hoping to attack some NPC civilian ships and collect a few slaves !! Seems giving it 2 holding cells & keeping 100FU cargo space would've made more sense ?
As it stands i think i'll keep my Cutlass Black & save the $50.. what do you guys think ?
On another note, i'm kinda re-energised about SC in general having watched the Connie landing and Planetside demo.... looking good :D
I've never been a fan of the Cutlass to be honest. Although the Red version did tempt me momentarily.
If you're keen on the blue though, I think it could be a good buy if you're planning to bounty hunt. Pick off a pirate, salvage his escape pod and lock him up. Travel to another sector and do it again. Another few times then back to UEE space to collect the bounty.
And yeah, I'm enthusiastic after that video too! Hence the 890.
The commercial is pretty cool.
I like it, but still not convinced. Just not my style, I guess. I thought the choice of pilot was a nice touch though.
I'm sorely tempted to melt my DUR for a Cutlass Red... Basic trade for exploration or SAR :S ... and I still don't know what my Phoenix will be capable of :( AAAGH!
I've snaffled a blue upgrade. The Cutlass is likely to be my preferred starter combat ship, so the extra power, missiles and better shielding should come in handy.
After seeing that I am likeing it more and more!!!

I like the Cutlass styling, it's very much not an Aeroplane ! Plus it's a nice mix of cargo space and weaponry, I still think the "Black" is by far the best of the Variants though, especially after Ben has answered all the questions on CIG forums re: variants.
Plus for $100 ship you get the $50 VFG Hangar upgrade for free, which is not right really, but hey what can you do ?
I had a quick look at the red, but melted it again. I just don't like the cutlass. Don't know why.
I've asked concierge to unmelt a couple of my old digital colonel packages so I can have my LTI hornets back.

My Hornet Tracker was there to aid the Org if any group skirmishes were planned - sitting at the edge of the combat zone relaying enemy movements. The Cutlass Red also has long-range scanning capabilities (although I doubt they would be in the same class as the Hornet's) with the added bonus of medical facilities, Search-and-Rescue kit, multi-crew and some hold space. So it seemed like a really good swap to me and, to be fair, would have been more of an asset to the Org.
But I've never liked the shape. I hate those side plates on the front and the rest of the styling just doesn't do it for me.
