So.... I joined this game late and would like to have a fighter craft of some sort that is strong and has LTI. The Hornet FC7-M for example.
Any options/ advice from those of you with more knowledge of the game appreciated.
Cheers,
Bert
Well, there's the SuperHornet (prepare to sell a kidney), or wait until the deep space fighter is out.
- Aegis Bulldog-class Twin-Engine Deep Space Fighter â€" Strike hard from a distance! The Bulldog, a recent design from Aegis, has quickly become Earth’s premier deep space fighter. Deep space fighters are typically used to pursue engagements in outlying areas when support from a carrier is not available. Bulldogs are usually flown by ground- and station-based naval forces, and are widely used by militia squadrons. Specifically designed to operate from planetary bases and engage targets up to a star system’s distance, the fighter trades some maneuverability for an extended supply of fuel and munitions as well as basic survival accommodations for a pilot and radar operator. The Bulldog’s RIO operates a turret, the ship’s missile loadout (optionally) and its highly advanced sensor suite. This distinct scanning array gives the ‘Dog a particular advantage when fighting in and around an obstacle such as an asteroid field or nebula! Finally, the Bulldog is known to be an extraordinarily sturdy spacecraft, with multiple backup systems not commonly found in single-seat ships; stories of Bulldogs limping back to base with a single engine and half their fuselage exposed to vacuum have become common as the battle against the Vanduul has heated up.
Would have called it a BloodHound myself...
The only place you'll find an F7C-M with LTI is in the secondary market. They're currently going for about $330 (http://www.reddit.com/r/Starcitizen_trades/comments/2iv8da/wtswtb_star_hangar_the_place_to_buy_or_sell_ships/?sort=new), which is quite a markup. The Bulldog does sound a lot like what you asked for though!

Well, I can actually help you out there, too. I *think* I can unmelt another one for me and then I'll have an LTI Digital Colonel + Superhornet package I can send you. It's pricey though - I don't like to make a whole lot of profit on this kind of thing, but even buying direct from CIG I think it was around $180. They go for about $250-$350 on the grey market (but I never liked the over-inflated prices on there, so I'd do it for a
lot less).
PM me if you're interested - but don't forget, you'll be able to get that deep-space fighter with LTI too at some point directly from CIG :)
EDIT: Also, don't forget that Chris Roberts keeps telling everyone that LTI isn't that big a deal. It matters to people like me because I'm an irrational collector. In the game though, it supposedly won't have a very big impact at all.
Wow, I don' think I've had as many responses to any post I've made in 12 years.
Thanks for the advice lads.

Hey, no worries - the F7C-M has about a million guns on it, a jump drive, a second seat and it's tough as nails. However, it
doesn't have a space toilet. So you need an LTI nappy too.
That's what stillsuits are for.
.....and the thigh pouches.
Just don't land that thing in my Idris. If you do, you'd better make sure the gravity is turned on when you change out of that suit.
Or you'll be swabbing the poop-deck.

They don't know you yet. :flirty:
