Title: What to do in WoD
Post by: Michelanio on October 31, 2014, 02:48:44 PM
Hey chaps, just thought that since not allot of people know what we plan to do in Warlords that we perhaps should post something up so we at least spread the rumour that we got some sort of plan :lmfao: So I thought something like this below perhaps? Of course this is just what I could remember from memory that we talked about and if there is anything else of course feel free to add/edit it or remove it completely, hopefully I didn't make it to much of a mess of it

QuoteHey everyone! Seeing as we got about 2 weeks left until Warlords of Draenor hits and during the past few weeks we officers have several times gotten the question as what are our plans for the expansion? Will we raid at all and if we do than how often, how hard and questions similar to those so we thought that we should answer a few of those questions in this post.

Will we do any raiding in WoD? Yes we will! Our goal of this game is and will always be to do raiding and see all the content while at the same time having a great time, we will however not do the hard core raiding we did during Pandaria but it will instead be a bit more relaxed. At the moment we think that we probably will raid 2 nights a week (days yet to be decided) and the difficulty we will aim for is going to be HC (previous normal) so we will need some sort of focus during the raids and not just lolly gagging.

Is there a spot for me in the raid team? With the newly implemented flex system that allows a flexible raid between 10 and 25 people in all difficulties apart from mythic we feel that as long as people wants to raid, turns up in time for the raids and are also able to put out the necessary performance for their current class and spec (we will use World of logs again) and that of course your ain't a complete idiot we don't see any hindrance to why not. What this means in terms of what you have to do is that you have to spend some time reading up on what is best for your class and spec and then try it out on dummies/random hc's of LFR and remember that if you want some help as to where to find that information there is always help to get in the guild so don't be afraid to ask!

Why are we not doing mythic raiding (former heroic) First and foremost if we do clear everything on heroic fast and it is easier than we think then sure, perhaps we will give mythic raiding a try but there are a few things that might complicate that a bit, first is that mythic raiding is a fixed 20man raid and if we got a 15man raid team we might struggle a bit. The second reason is that not everyone in this game is cut out to do mythic raiding, it might sound very harsh but it is the truth and we rather get a nice and friendly experience doing hc than just for a selected few in mythic.

What class/spec do you want me to play? So far we haven't set up a team yet so it's up to you what class and spec you want to play, we have found that people play better and put more effort in to their character when they themselves like to play it rather than someone forcing you to play a certain character so you still got time to decide what character you want to play and if you haven't got a active subscription yet blizzard is at the moment giving everyone 7 days free play time so they can try out the new patch and see if they like the new changes to the characters and the world.

When will the first raid be? That is not yet decided, and from the info we have gotten from blizzard so far it seems like the raids wont even open up until at least 2 weeks after the expansion goes live so that should give everyone plenty of time to level up in their own time and even then its not sure we will punch out a raid directly when it becomes available so our tip is just to keep a eye on the forum as you should normally do :norty:

What if I don't want to do raiding and feeling left out? We know that the last year have been a bit slow for the guild and specially in regards to social events but hopefully we will step that up a bit and organize a few more of them, only downside is that it takes a fair bit of time to plan those events and even harder to come up with ideas that is both funny and can be done with different sizes of people. Of course if you got any ideas for social events that can be done feel free to send a PM to any officer on the forum and we might adopt the idea.

We hope that this will answer a few questions for you but if you got some more feel free to contact a officer and we will do our best to answer them asap.
Cya online and here on the forum, Take care :)

I know I'm not in here any more, but I thought I'd drop and and say "nicely worded Hal!", particularly the mythic & class bit.
