Hi guys,
A while ago me and a bunch of randoms got together on the RSI forums with a plan to go look for a way to get to the K'Thrak system of Krell, which is behind the Xi'An Empire space, with a view to opening up some potentially lucrative trade.
Of course, the Xi'An, having been at war with the K'Thrak for a number of years, would probably not look favourably on this and may well put a stop to anyone who looks like they're looking for uncharted jump points in their space. Plus, being the first humans to come into contact with the K'Thrak will bring its own particular set of problems, ahem, opportunities! We would need to convince them of our peaceful intentions, persuade them that we're not spies for the Xi'An, and try to identify possible trade opportunities. If we can manage that, there will be just the small matter of smuggling and/or blockade running through Xi'An space without getting caught and killed as enemies of the Xi'An Empire whilst also staying out of the way of pesky piwates, etc...
The people in this little group appear to have mostly fallen by the wayside, but I'm still of the opinion that this would be a good, immersive mission to go on as a group, and would rely on a lot of cooperation and require a varied fleet (which we have) in order to survive in Xi'An space while we look for a way through to Krell.
Is this something that would be of interest to the organisation?
I think anything like this would be an excellent goal in beta, to road test its viability for the PU. I'd be up for discussion and planning for something like this, the more coop the better!
Absolutely. Count me in. I'm gonna need more crew...

An organised, tactical, teamwork-based operation? Right up our street :thumb:
If such things become possible with the depth you describe then it'll be a remarkable thing to do 😃

I would be up for this, sounds fun!
We do know that parts of the PU will be procedurally generated, akin to Elite: Dangerous.
What we don't know is how much, or if a "wipe" or "reset" will trigger different PU data until release. For example, in ED some systems changed from Agriculture to High Tech from Beta 3 -> Gamma.
So I think I'm trying (badly) to say that if we do find K'Thrak, the means, route and method of coercing them could change drastically from beta through to release.
I'd love it if we could do something like this... count me in!

Being completely honest, I doubt that we will be able to find a jump point to Krell during the beta as I suspect that the jump point may not even be in existence during the beta - and we don't yet have any proof that the devs will have Krell in the 'verse at launch: it may well be one of those systems that they put in later.
That said, even if the jump point exists, and we manage to find it, I'm sure it's location will move when the beta has it's final wipe before going live, but the exercise in its self could be useful and I'm sure will be fun as well.
Signing up for the initiative.
Even if it moves after the beta it would be useful to attempt it to see what to do and what not to do in terms of all the alien politics involved...?
Is not like there is anything to lose really. I think it'll be a valuable experience. Plus we can maybe put our diplomat hats on and meet an alien that doesn't need to be blasted! Remember that as we play this! I can imagine that CR would put a 'neutral' contact on scanner just to see if we arm weapons and charge first or wait and make contact with them! I certainly wouldn't put it passed CIG!

Looks like we'd be on our own if captured by the Xi'An...
Well it I'll be in the PU alpha/beta so no real consequence really.
In the Alpha and Beta are our ships and pilots exposed to permanent death/ scrap?

That's a good question. I can't see any answer for it.
Maybe one of our subscribers could put it forward for 10 for the chairman?
O haven't asked anything yet. I might see if I can get it through.
