Title: Man Flu
Post by: TeaLeaf on December 05, 2014, 05:40:40 PM
I really hate when this happens.

Temperature is 102.5 and I'm feeling like total crap.   It's totally wrecked my very full day and now means that next weeks diary is a nightmare.

Someone take me outside and shoot me......

Take some warm water, add some honey (real one not the supermarket stuff that's mostly syrup) and squeeze some lemon.  Very good for the throat.  You can also put some lemon rings on your forehead and secure with a bandage.

I found night nurse effective for the nights as well.

Get well soon.

Paracetamol, alcohol and Chilli-cheese-on-toast.

Cures everything, guaranteed.

Day 3 and were still at 102.25, think I might need to go to a doctor tomorrow if there is no change.  Debilitating does not describe it. bah.

Sorry to hear that TL - hope it clears up soon.

Try getting the flu while on immunosuppresion - like getting hit by an actual truck. Full of the flu.

Yeah that would do it too!  Hope you get better too. :stroke:

My temperature dropped below 100 today for the first time since Thursday night and I can reveal now that it probably wasn't flu, it was almost certainly a nasty little gastroenteritis bug.  Yeah, I hadn't mentioned the explosive decompression version of the shits had I?

Looking on the bright side, I'm now 10 pounds lighter than I was last Thursday night, but I should be able to drink that back on no time.  Actually managed 5 hours at my desk today which is my first work since Thursday, looking forward to seeing the back of this thing, but only in a mirror.....

:roflmao:

we also have emergency state pooh...for when you have the craps or cant hold it in  any longer

hence the next phrase...ive just had an emergency state pooh and cat 5'd the toilet

good to hear you are over it

One step forward.  Two steps backwards.  I was 102 again overnight (and still am).  Whatever this bug is that is going round, it's not nice.   Getting reports of several people within our circle of friends that have been hit by this gastric bug, hopefully the rest of you guys will avoid it.

I had a really bad one of those four years ago.  Lasted two weeks, took off 5 or so kilos.

In the end I had to take pills to restore my intestinal flora.

I've never had high temperatures with gastric flu though.

I've the whole nine yards, with the exception of the vomiting.   And we're into the 8th day now, so it looks like I might be on a two weeker too.

Temperature bouncing around 101.5 most days still, but at least the browns are gone!  On a course of co-amoxiclav and metronidazole with co-codamol for light relief.

10 days now and I reckon Gorion was right, it's heading for two weeks grrrrr.
