So I love a bit of space Si-Fi.
Reading the Jump Point issues the fiction created for this magazine has been one of the most enjoyable features (I'd say that I look forward to but mostly I'm reading back).
I think the scenarios presented fuel the imagination and encourage ideas to form that could be part of the final game.
Tonya Oriel, solitary scientist seeking rare items to analyse and sell to continue her lone mission.
I mean that doesn't sound like a typical explorer, no Carrack or Freelancer, nor a Connie, more of a Herald with a lab and refinery.
I feel from reading decent fiction like this that tries to relate to the game that will be created that a small explorer vessel for one person with something specialized like scientific analysis would be a great role to play in game for one character.
The only problem is there doesn't seem to be a ship that fits that bill, neither right off the bat nor after mods and adjustments. Perhaps a Cutlass with a Science station?
Has anyone else taken some sort of inspiration from the fiction in Jump Point and if so what?
At the moment, I'm loving the 315P for single person exploration. Who knows what kind of equipment you'll be able to equip it with?

I suggest the Avenger, bigger, separate hold on that, and rear hatch to get stuff inside. And in the room where the bed is there is room for lab station and some more living quarter stuff....

The avenger has more hold space but unless they allow for a retrofit jump driver its a little limited in terms of range. The 315p is a little larger due to engine size I presume but larger overall but the also here is the list initially getting modular status (no 300s):
"We are looking to overhaul any suitable ships (including the Cutlass, Avenger, Retaliator and Redeemer) to allow many modular components to be available as swap-outs. For example: if you have purchased a Redeemer, then using the new system you would have a variety of new modules available to refit the ship, internal and external, to suit your play requirements."

So you have to think the Avenger will get some nice flexibility there! One to keep the Avenger pilots happy 😃

I'm sure we will get jumpdrives on the Avenger. Also I want to open the hatch in space and EVA out and winch in (or tractor beam) stuff. Not sure if that would be doable in an 300.

The 315p (explorer version) has a nose mounted tractor beam mentioned in the description. If that can have it, i'm almost certain the Avenger will have. Heads up though because we're due some Avenger variants in the not too distant future. Rumour has it they'll be a two seater 'training' version. I read it somewhere, but I'll be damned if I can find it now. Might've been on the star citizen wiki.
They used to refer to the two seat trainer avenger in the ships comparison page widget thing, but it disappeared from there several months ago. I think it was originally intended to be the single player trainer and not available in the pu? I'm curious to see how/if the specs change again...

Sneaking suspicion two seater might end up as a variant. We'll see anyway... yea, they're really hot on changing specs atm.
