DMW CHRISTMAS FLY IN THURSDAY 18th DECEMBER

dMw's first fly in will be the Christmas fly in from Stapleford(EGSG) to Clacton(EGSQ)

Any pilots interested meet on the server and TeamSpeak around 19:30 GMT ready for take off at around 20:00 GMT. server details can be found here (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?40345-FSHost-info-and-download-details)
[/SIZE]

We will be taking off from Stapleford on runway 22L, turning left towards the east coast and then north into Clacton.  Flight time is roughly 35 mins but could be longer depending on traffic, we can also do the return trip if we have time.  You can download the .pln file here (https://www.dropbox.com/s/sfuw6pts1y4cntf/VFR%20Stapleford%20to%20Clacton.PLN?dl=0) if you wish to import it into the FSX flight planner, alternatively the flight plan is below:

EGSG >> EVNAS >> MANGO >> SABER >> TRIPO >> EGSQ
(or you can just simply fly direct but be aware of other traffic)

As Clacton is a grass strip i would suggest using a small single engine aircraft, like the default Cessna Skyhawk 172 SP (pictured above).  Runway 36 at Clacton is the more challenging approach, with trees just before touch down (its also very fun).  For a more simple landing you can head further east and turn left, heading north then left again to line up for runway 18, obviously weather permitted.

Before joining the server be sure to have all air traffic turned off otherwise you will see AI aircraft on the ground and in the air.  Also please make sure you have read the server rules (here (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?40374-dMw-FSHost-Server-Rules)) so you are aware of the do's and don'ts.

Also if your new to FSX this is a great opportunity to come and learn the basics, im sure any questions you may have can be answered.

I hope to see you on the night, if you have any questions feel free to contact me or one of the admins or reply here :)

justa quick one, ui take it you are sticking with the versions we have for tonight as i havent time to buy and install and get back for 2100ish otherwise. Paddy will be on the old version

from the speil on the page

PLEASE NOTE

Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition (FSX: Steam Edition) is functionally similar to the boxed version of Microsoft Flight Simulator X (MSFSX Gold Edition). We have worked extensively with third party developers to make sure the two products can work alongside each other, however due to the wide range of add-on products available for MSFSX Gold Edition, we cannot guarantee that your existing content will work with Microsoft Flight Simulator X Steam Edition

If you already have MSFSX Gold Edition installed on your PC and are concerned about running the two games alongside each other, you may wish to consider installing FSX: Steam Edition on a separate PC.

If you already have MSFSX Gold Edition and add-ons installed they will only be accessible through your existing installation. They will not be duplicated across the original edition and Steam Edition of the simulator.

Thanks for everyone who joined us tonight much appreciated :thumb:

Hopefully you enjoyed it.  I think the next fly in will be at larger main airports and probably in something a little quicker. It was our first fly in so no one really knew what to expect but now I have an idea of how it will pan out I'll take it on board and use it to organise the next one.

Thanks guys

Top job Sparko. Herding cats it wasn't but with me and TL having technical issues its a challenge.

I imagine with more than 8 we'd have to be more disciplined.

Aye, shame about the random FSX crashes.  It was working fine earlier in the day ona  flight, it also worked fine the last couple of times on FSHost, so I have no idea what was happening.

I also snagged a copy of the Steam FS for £3.99, at that price is seemed wierd not to and is a nice backup for the future.

Thanks Snooks and all participants, thoroughly enjoyed myself, despite crashing on first landing and overshooting on the second.
I need to learn stall speeds etc of my new planes. Looking forward to the next fly-in.

Completed the flight this morning on FSHost in the Cessna.   Nice approach from the sea on 36!   Made it in first time, not even a bump
