Title: Mission: Damnation Alley
Post by: smilodon on December 27, 2014, 04:04:35 PM
Another mission to try. I've not fully tested it but there's nothing very complicated so hopefully it will mostly work?

Mission: Damnation Alley

The whole squad are members of an Engineers Company (you're all repair specialists). You mission is to deliver a HEMTT transporter based at a factory complex to allied forces located in a small base to the North West. If the HEMTT is lost the mission is a failure. Use repair kits to keep it rolling should it become damaged.

The area between the Factory and the delivery point is heavily mined (yes I've added real ones this time) so the team should stick to main roads and tracks. Any cross country escapades will end badly (either through minefields or the usual result of the truck hitting a pebble i.e. it's wheels fall off). Intel suggests the east west road and the coast road are free of mines and they have marked a suggested route accordingly. This route may be free of mines but I almost certainly will not be free of enemy contacts. Enemy forces occupy several of the villages on route. They may have armour but will not be able to provide any air cover. There are no civilians along your route but they may have left vehicles which you can use as required. A NATO Hunter was lost somewhere on the coast road. It may have a supply box close to it. Find and use it as needed.

Deliver the HEMTT intact to the allied forces. Protect it at all times. Scout forward, clear enemy forces and then proceed. Good luck.

I will be making a few changes to this one.

I'll add two sniper rifles and ammo and two HMG's and ammo. The plan is that the Squad Leader chooses who fills those roles so if you just grab one be prepared to have to hand it back :)
I'll add more Hunters/Quad bikes in case late arrivals need a ride to the action.
I'll fix the script so you don't get to see where the AI has spawned .....duh!
I'll add maps, gps, compass, watches, backpacks etc in case players try to load saved loadouts by mistake.

Oh and DON'T try to load saved loadouts, they don't work and will strrip your character of clothes and kit. Will be done for Wednesday.

..... as usual I'll move stuff about so you don't get lazy :norty:

I thought it was ace..I also thought it needed a mg for our team, just to get more fire on them then they did on us, TBH some of us did run out of ammo last night, and maybe a mortor limited to 10 rounds only. at least we could get into the town

best bit of the night was the 2nd time i lead it "Wow this is the furthest we have got" said somebody on comms...3 mins later we were all dead

Oh I have a 'battle plan' thought up and ready to go. It even involves a buddy system like we are going on a school trip.

No, seriously.

Great work as always smilo keep it up. Love the weapon restrictions.

thats why i said that toby, 10 rounds wont do a lot, its when we plaster 50 in there is when the issues happen

I'll fix the broken ammo box, remove the 'twist in the tail' and leave the map up for posterity.
