DMW FLY IN WEDNESDAY 21st JANUARY
(http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c118/sparko501/2015-01-10_00008_zps61b88bbc.jpg)
The January fly in will be a business trip from Bringeland(ENBL) to Oslo Gardermoen(ENGM) in Norway
The theme for this fly-in is Business jets or larger twin engine turbo prop aircraft like the default King Air, try to choose something no bigger than the default Learjet 45 (pictured above), the runway at Bringeland is on the short side so anything bigger could end up being a struggle.
Any pilots interested meet on the server and TeamSpeak around 19:30 GMT ready for take off at around 20:00 GMT. server details can be found here (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?40345-FSHost-info-and-download-details)

We will be taking off from Bringeland on runway 8. Flight time is roughly 1 hour with a cruising speed of 290 knots. You can download the .pln file here (https://www.dropbox.com/s/1vynrjfa5vr5hmn/ENBL%20Bringeland%20-%20ENGM%20Oslo%20Gardermoen.pln?dl=0) if you wish to import it into the FSX flight planner, alternatively the flight plan is below:DCT >> DOPUX >> Z135 >> ADOPI >> ADOPI2L
Before joining the server be sure to have all air traffic turned off otherwise you will see AI aircraft on the ground and in the air. Also please make sure you have read the server rules (here (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?40374-dMw-FSHost-Server-Rules)) so you are aware of the do's and don'ts.
If your new to FSX this is a great opportunity to come and learn the basics, im sure any questions you may have can be answered.
I hope to see you on the night, if you have any questions feel free to contact me or one of the admins or reply here :)

im in...btw guys fshost now works with both versions of FSX (original and steam) so having one or the other will not stop you from playing
Much of the OP made no sense to me at all, which shows just how clueless I am about FXS but I'd like to get involved and maybe have a go at this?

Of course you can, give me half an hour of your time Smilo and you'll understand what the OP means, let me know when your about between now and the fly in and I'll go through things with you :)
I would also like to tag along for this as have just purchased the game.
Can you let me know when you two will meet, so that I can learn the ropes too?

Not a problem chaos, just let me know when you can spare some time and I'll walk you through things :)

Again no problem, just PM me guys when you have some spare time, even if we can't all get together at one time I will make sure you know what your doing :)
..and no Toby there will be no barrel rolls in a 747 :bleh:
I'll try to be here for the fly in.
Hello guys.
I will be there for the fly in too, but I'd love to practice with you to get things running before the day.
I recently started MS FS again after years away. Installed the Steam version, got two A2A planes C172/Cherokee180 and a couple Carenado planes The Archer and the Bonanza F33. Edit: Yes the OrbX Norwegian scenery is great. I will get England and Scotland too. Cant wait...
I don't have anything that fits the description for this day, (I hate the defaults) so I would like to have your views on the following. I like small planes, I like less glass and more "real" instruments. I have no clue how to fly a twin or a jet. I have found a couple of planes I could go with, but I need your input.
The Carenado Beech B200, The Pilatus PC-12and the Sogata TBM850. I'm not sure if any of these can cruise at 290 knots (is that mandatory?), but this is the "type" of plane I could go with. Any other suggestions?

Not sure the 290knots is mandatory, it just gives an indication of the time the flight takes at that speed. If you go slower then it will take longer (so take off a bit earlier and you'll land with us).
The pc12 will do 275, so maybe fly that as it will only add a few minutes to it.
i will be flying this which will do about 290

and when i got home i tried out out and i had oodles of room

Correct, 290knts is not mandatory, however the idea of the fly in is that we arrive at our destination in waves if you like (one after each other)
I would say a cruising speed of 210 minimum would be a good guideline, it won't be much fun being left behind. Also the theme is business aircraft or luxury private aircraft.
People enjoy flying different size planes so each fly in will have a different spec of aircraft to be used albeit a rough spec
I plan on running at least one a month so everyone will at some point get a chance to fly something they prefer. As Sulky says you should be fine with the PC12, we will let the slower aircraft take off first I think to give you a head start :)
..btw I will be around on TS tomorrow night from 7pm ish should anyone require any advice/guidance

Thanks I will be on if I can connect. Tried to connect yesterday, but FSClient did not find any sessions.
BTW I will go with a B200 as I have connections to that plane. (See other thread)
i tried and forgot to post, if we lose ts or any of the servers fshost will go down as well, but unlike most of them fshost wont auto start on the rack. Usually i just hudge oldie...but i forgot sorry..done now
It's my work annual conference next week but I hope to make it along.
I suggest everyone load up the route that Sparko has created into FSX as it will make it so much easier to see where we will all be flying. I certainly couldn't make the trip without it unless I manually reset my heading at every waypoint which is a bit finnicky mid flight!
The VLJ Business Jet will be along for the ride! Yes it is tiny :)

Whatever the stock Learjet 45 things is I guess will be my ride :D
I cant find the SR-71 anyone else?

Read as Avenger from Star Citizen without the pledge, oh and you get a few hundred others to try ;-)
change of aircraft to a majestic q400 as the js4100 keeps deciding to fly to the moon....

Not for the fly in....however it would be interesting to see it in flight :)
Just a reminder chaps that the fly-in is this Wednesday, if everyone can check that everything works OK etc joining the server and the aircraft you want to use is behaving as it should so we can minimise any issues on the night it would be much appreciated. If you need any help with anything between now and then let me or the admins know and I'm sure we can help.
I'm on my way from ENAL to ENBL as we speak...

I'm on my way home now so will be there! Probably with a few Bruin Leffe as its about 80p a bottle and I like it :)

I'll be taking the Bombardier Learjet 45 then, lovely plane.
For reference:
ENGM ILS 1L 110.30
For Learjet pilots:
ENBL take off - full flaps & use more than the whole runway, or lower your default fuel by about 3500lbs. Otherwise you'll take off after the runway ends, become airborne as the ground drops away into a ditch and then skirt some tree tops as airspeed builds and you eventually climb! :P
Will be there.
I've noticed in the Orbx Norway scenery that runway is aligned and numbered as '7', but don't suppose that will present problems.
Piccie at the end...

Well done chaps, that was very successful and I like how we landed one after another, being the first to land it was very cool to watch. Hope you all enjoyed it, if you have any suggestions for the next one let me know :)
Well thanks for all the help guys was a laugh today I landed with a few bounces and learnt how to drift a learjet

Here is my view;

Edit; BTW, I found out that in the FSHostClient you can right click on a player name and assign a different aircraft to him from your own planes.
Had to work and didn't get home till 9pm. So missed it completely  Glad it was a success and roll on the enextone.
Looks great guys,
due to moving of my exam time I spent the night revising instead!
Hope to join the next one :)
Very enjoyable. :)
Learnt a great deal of info and made a 'learn how to' list during the evening.
Thanks for the help guys.
Twas much fun and big props to whoever got 3 landings for the price of one! :p
