[I am aware that there is already a thread for the Evolve alpha, but I thought I would make this to discuss the full retail game.]
So I have Evolve now after getting overwhelmed by my own curiosity and the numerous positive reviews.
Have played a few games, and it is fun. A lot of fun. The whole asymmetrical FPS really works. As a hunter it is a frantic race to catch and kill the monster before they Evolve, and as the monster its a scary game of hide and seek until you are strong enough to take on the hunters head-on. The combat is polished and balanced and the gameplay fast and frantic, only the (often too long) loading screens slow down the pace at times.
Where this game fails so far is with team-mates. So often I just see people doing idiotic things, or simply wandering around not knowing what to do! Now, this happens in every game sure, but Evolve seems to be balanced so very well, if any 1 of the 4 hunters is a weak link it really does hold the whole team back. So far this seems to be both one of Evolve's strongest points, and its fatal flaw. When all 4 hunters work well together, the game is fantastic. Great fun. When 1 of the hunters is unsure, it all starts to fall into frustration.
Now, going in with 3 other guys in teamspeak? That could really be a lot of fun. So, anyone interested? You can get the game + DLC for around 25 £ atm. If not now, when the game ends up in a steam sale this could be well worth checking out.
This game is now free on Steam. Evolve Stage 2, downloading atm.

Awesome! Downloading
I read through a number of the reviews on Steam over the last year about this game. Whilst it looks awesome, nearly everyone with an opinion says the balancing is way off. Also given their history of DLC transactions, I suspect they may be trying to keep this alive by in game micro transactions to unlock content. The DLC costs upset a lot of people who bought the game originally.
Yep this game was more or less dead on it's feet averaging less than 200 simultaneous players. I'm assuming free to play with micro transactions is a last attempt to monetise the game before they abandon it. Shame as it looked like a great concept.
Had a bit of an influx after going f2p, but I don't see it lasting.

I'd be keen to organise a single night to give it a go, maybe Sunday? Even if just a 1 off. Anyone else fancy it?
Downloaded it and up for giving it a try.
EDIT: It seems pretty alright for having a shoot or smash.
So far 7,5 out of 10
i liked the idea of this game and had it on xbox one when it came out it was good but got boring after a while but with friends who know maybe it would be really good. i have downloaded it
I've downloaded it too, been watching some tgn squadron YouTube live stuff on it, it does look like it could be a lot of fun with friends. If
anyone be down for a game of this, this week ? if lucky maybe get a whole team and monster and then we can all switch out ?
Depends when but I'd definatly like to give this a go versus some fellow dMw'ers. It might be a nice game for the LANs also.
I've been playing it a bit against/with publics, some just seem to be dodgy from time to time.
