BS Player (http://www.bsplayer.org)

Also plays .mov files so there is no need to download that lump of scumware called Quicktime.

Winamp 5 is the utter dogs for music files and there is no substitute.

However, I'd argue that it's movie features aren't as good as BS Player and it doesn't play as many movie formats, so I use BS for my eyes and Winamp for my ears and Windows Media Player is used for  sod all.

Sorry but I disagree. Media Player is used to take up space on my HD coz I can't be tangoed to uninstall it (or even to find out if I can uninstall it ;))

VLC player - no bells or whistles but plays pretty much every format.

Media player for any videos.
I like musicmatch for some reason for music....dunno, don't like the newer winamps

and vlc has never failed me yet, should media player bork at it....and as you know I have a fair few clips.

I use media player - it does everything you need so stop moaning ;)

Got sick of using winamp about 3 years ago - pain in the proverbial Tango

I absolutely agree with you Chimpy..it does indeed do much more than you'd expect....like call home to Bill Gates and tell him what music and movies you're playing.

So details of your lactation fetish are all over Redmond HQ by now.

Ah yes a corporate stooge now. The mind boggles at the depravities to which you have sunk now that you live at Ivory Towers
