Title: *** CS:GO Competative Hints, Tips and Strats ***
Post by: King85 on March 21, 2015, 08:24:26 AM
Having played quite a few competitive games now with Dex, Stewie, Franko and an ever rotating cast of other players I think we're getting pretty good but we're let down by our lack of any decent strategies/a few other issues and whilst I'm not good enough to give out any worth while advice I have found several videos and guides online which have been very useful to myself and I think could be really be helpful for us as a team.

Hopefully others will have some similar resources they can add to this thread too.

Basic hardware settings:

General Aiming (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9mvXfnY8wU)

Callouts:

Callouts are crucial for giving your teammates info on what's going on in a concise manner and therefore it's worth taking the time to learn the different map sections (I still don't know them all and when I get overexcited I will often call somewhere by the wrong name :blush2:)

Smokes:

Decent well placed smokes I think are a crucial tactic we all need to learn as they can help no end in situations like an A site push in Mirage when jungle, ct spawn and steps are properly smoked to getting a smoke deep on banana on Inferno to allow someone to get control of car quickly.

I could post a billion smoke videos but this guy on youtube I find to be easy to understand and he gives a few really useful ones for a few common maps we play.

Mirage (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_8nGOWx9ws)

Dust II (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wiZyCTfThY&index=2&list=PL8RsznONOo6THFN5jQo_YWrXIrMqsMhni)

Hopefully everyone that plays will find these useful (i'm sure most know this stuff already though) and feel free to add anything you have found that people may finds useful too and hopefully we can build up a nice little resource. :)

Not sure if it's possible or still good for the newer CS but we had an extra section which had various tactics. Maybe a good idea to look into those if they are still accessible?

I call Sadako 1!
